Things were much better with my mom yesterday. To start, when Maggie got there she was confused and didn't really know who she was but she knew she had 4 kids and their names. She kept telling Maggie "You're pretty." She "How did I get here?" Maggie eased her into the situation. At first she didn't remember that Richard had passed but eventually she remembered. As time went by, she recalled things more and more. When Maggie told her that she had been combative, she got very embarrassed and said, "That's not me." No, it wasn't. I'm not sure where things go from here but she will start (or has started) OT, PT and speech. She has another evaluation/test this morning that will look into the issues she's been having with the gag reflex but she has been drinking her Boost. The living situation after discharge is still being figured out. I can't imagine she'll ever be able to go home which is sad. That hasn't been explained yet. All in good time...once things are more "sure".
Once again, I slept well. I got sucked into watching Graham Norton clips on Youtube before bed and probably did that for too long but it's fine. He's hilarious!
Dinner tonight will probably be leftovers because there's just too much in the fridge that Jim hasn't put a dent in. Fine with me.
I didn't get to walk the boys yesterday because of the rain. They were pretty okay with it considering the rain. It's still sloppy out there but the rain/snow is moving out. The winds are still high but should die down as the hours go by. I hate hearing all the howling (of the wind); it makes me so nervous. Last night while we were watching TV and the boys were upstairs, they started howling themselves and I'm pretty sure it was in response to the wind. Normally they only do that on Wednesdays at noon or if sirens are nearby. It's the only thing that it could have been...the wind.I think Jim's scan is fine but I keep reading things about it regarding his lung and don't know if that has to do with the scar tissue from the radiology, lung collapse or cancer. Jim doesn't have trouble breathing but he went out and bought Mucinex the other day and I'm wondering if this is a result of the surgery or something going on with his cancer. We'll see tomorrow when he meets with Dr. Locher. Fingers crossed. It would just be our luck that we get past his heart issues and then his cancer rears its ugly head again. (I need to have positive thoughts!)
Okay well, time to get a move on. Happy Wednesday! Later!
