Whoopsie Daisies!

I didn't post all weekend...not intentional...I just forgot. You'd think that would mean that my weekend was busy but in fact, it was quite relaxing and uneventful.

Friday, Jim and I went out to dinner with my neighbors, Cari and Jordan. We were home by 7:00 and they headed to the Loveland football game. Saturday I did some sewing (got the curtains for our room at school done) - got 1 top quilt complete. I have two others to do and need to crack-a-lack on them. Jim and I had dinner at home Saturday and then I went to Cari's afterwards for drinks (she fed me way too many glasses of wine and I was out too late but it was still fun). Sunday - other than Shooters, we just hung out at the house. I laid out a bit and did some sewing...made dinner and then did some reading. I was a perfect weekend.

This week: I have a 4:00 meeting after school so I'll be able to get some work done, which is good. I won't be home until probably 5:30 or so. Jim is working 2nd shift for the next couple days so I won't see him. That's okay though...Sami will be happy. And he's working in Loveland so he'll be close to home. I think I'll head to Cari's after Emmit goes down so we can watch Bachelor in Paradise.

Jim has lots of jobs today. He has to call to schedule a chimney sweeper to come and to get a couple estimates for our driveway. We've had one but it was a guy that only does concrete and I just wanted to see what he would quote. Nearly $10,000 and I think I'll pass. Wish it was something Jim and I could just do ourselves. Oh well...we'll see.

And that's I'll I've got. Not much else exciting to talk about. Still sort of playing catchup at school but I finally feel like I'm getting there...until IEP shit starts...and teacher evaluations...UGH! I just stick my head in the sand like I always do.

K - happy Monday (this time next week I'll still be sleeping). Later!

One More Week Under My Belt

Whew! It was TOUGH getting up today! I was having a crazy dream. I don't remember much but a key character in it was Jackee. So weird.

Recap: I give this week a grade of C. It was pretty rough starting but by Wednesday, I felt like things were turning around and I was beginning to swim with my head above water. I still have today to get through but how bad can a Friday be?! (Oh boy...that may have just jinxed me!) I'm just hoping that today will afford me the time to write most of my first IEP. That meeting is set for September 9th and should be relatively easy since I've already met with the father twice. The real issue with this case is the student is a total tool. She wants NOTHING to do with special ed (hates even hearing the words...literally flinched) which makes it really hard to meet her needs. We'll see how it all goes when she starts reporting to me everyday on Monday. I foresee major attitude issues. I'll go easy on her...I get it.

Made a wonderfully delicious dinner last night: Spaghetti Pie. Maggie saw this made on the Today Show this week and apparently Matt Lauer couldn't get enough of it. She made it, loved it and so I gave it a whirl last night. YUM! It's pinned under my "Pasta" board on Pinterest if anyone is interested. (Note: save more of the pasta water than they call for; I didn't have mozzarella so used cheddar and it was just terrific!)

And that's about all I've got. No major plans for the weekend except some cleaning and a visit to Shooters. I will not cook tonight but I'm not sure what we'll have for dinner. Jim's Dayton job will end this morning - YAY!!! He'll be back at Fields Ertel this afternoon which makes me happy...I hate him having to drive to Dayton everyday.

K - well, I'm out. Need to stop at Kroger for some of my sparkling water before school. Happy Friday! Later

Jinxing Myself

I'm sure this statement will come back to bite me in the ass but I've been sleeping like a LOG every night lately. I guess it's because I get up and go, go, go until it's time to hit the hay. I'm not complaining either it's just been an exhausting last few days. Yesterday was a much easier day at school so that's good but with all of the crap that we teachers are facing this year (evaluations) those days will be few and far between, I'm guessing. I'm trying not to freak out about what's coming and how much stupid, pointless shit we're going to be expected to do (without really being instructed well)...I just need to remind myself to breathe and that this too shall pass.

Went to Costco after school yesterday and got my normal stuff plus a pair of leggings (may need to go back and get more). My Costco got rid of their u-scans which sort of pissed me off but they are so fast at checkout that I decided not to be annoyed about it. As long as Kroger doesn't think about doing the same.

Jim got a jury summons yesterday. He's had three since we've lived here and I've had only one (knock on wood). I'm wondering if they keep sending him one because he's been excused every time. He can't afford not to work for a week and so always writes a letter to get out of it. I'll print the letter out at work today and we'll send it in. Annoying. I wonder if there's a limit to how many times they excuse you. Hmm...can't imagine. I mean it isn't like he wouldn't serve if it were during a time he's laid off. Oh well.

And that's all I've got. Best mosey...get to work and get some shit done. Later!

Memories!

Maggie - you must find this for Eva! She would LOVE it! Ebay! Do it!  Ooh, never mind - I'll look...good Christmas gift!

Speaking of Eva - she cracks me up. She started watching Disney's Robin Hood and started doing the routine you see in the video - "Thank you my lady" (although the way she says it sounds like "Thank you ma layday"...she's a kook).

Continuing with Eva, I've been getting evening phone calls from her. She's so much fun to talk to on the phone. Of course, most of the time she's telling my I'm a kook. And if I ask a questions - for instance: "What did you have for dinner", she'll answer and then add, "and you can't have any Muwee!" Hmm...that's not love for her Muwee!

Today will be uneventful. I'll try and hit Costco and Joann Fabrics after school. Can I just tell you how sick I am of NOT going home right when school ends? I think aside from Friday, I've had to stay after school for one reason or another OR run errands after. This gets me home around 4:00 much of the time and that bites for Sami.

Speaking of school - our contract was PASSED by members. I just have to say - THANK THE GOOD LORD because there was NO WAY I was going to be able to continue with negotiations (of course I would have but it would have SUCKED)! I'll be interested to hear the vote count. Next paycheck should be a good one! May have to celebrate with a trip to say, Eddie Merlots! I deserve it!

K - well, once again I have a shitload of shit to shovel at school before class starts so I best mosey. Happy Hump Day!!! Later!

That Girl's A Swimming Fool!

Loves me some Eva swimming without her puddle jumper! How brave is she!?

In school news - yesterday was a frustrating day. (I promise this bitching of mine will end soon.) I just feel like I can't catch my breath. I still have students who may need schedule changes; the teacher schedules that were never properly done are causing issues; our guided interventions are WAY too big and I feel like there isn't enough of me to go around; the powers that be won't allow Kim or Diane to be in our guided interventions as an extra set of hands (how fucking stupid is that when there's nowhere else they need to be?); my co-teaching assignment is a complete waste of my time...I'm basically a glorified note-taker. UGH! Of all the problems listed above, the co-teaching thing is giving me the most pain. I just hope for my/principal's sake that he doesn't ask me how things are going in there because I won't be able to NOT tell the truth (and that may get me in trouble). The good thing about my feelings is that my colleague - who is co-teaching the exact same fucking class at a different period - feels the same way. ARG! I just hate when people are too wrapped up in their own plans/agenda and don't listen to those of us who have been-there-done-that!

Okay - I'm done complaining. On a positive note - I really like the kids and really that's the most important thing. Not that I like them but that the kids are good and things are going well with them.

Today is voting day for the contract. We will hopefully know this time tomorrow if the contract was ratified...fingers crossed because I cannot do anymore negotiations!

Well, guess what? I need to mosey because I need to get to school early to try and get some shit DONE!!!  Happy Tuesday - later!

First Full Week

Today will be the beginning of actual school for me. I plan on starting Hamlet today and the first chapter in my world history class. Exciting, huh? In assessing my students, I discovered that my two freshmen in my LA classes are LOW LOW LOW readers. The one student is said to be at a 1st grade reading level (he came in late Friday so I haven't tested him yet) and the other one tested around 3rd or 4th grade. The latter kid, however, had amazing comprehension. For as halting his reading was, he knew the answer to every question I asked him afterwards. Should be interesting when it comes to the weekly assessments.

Yesterday was very relaxing. I made breakfast and then laid around the house until it was time to lay out. I didn't exercise because I was still pretty sore from the log splitting. Around noon, I laid out a couple hours (kept falling asleep) and then finally took a nice soaking bath. Afterwards I went out to the circle where most of the neighbors were hanging out. After dinner, some TV and reading, I went to bed. A nice Sunday.

Nothing major is coming up this week...glad of that. And I've really got nothing else to talk about. So with that - happy Monday. Later!

Kicking ASS!!!

I love it when my agenda for the weekend gets thrown out the window because things went so perfectly that all items were complete in record time. My original plan for splitting was to do all the splitting yesterday and stack today. However, Jim and I had such an amazing system down that we were able to split all the wood we had hauled in our driveway, stack it and clean up.  We then wheeled the splitter down to the woodpile in Cari and Jordan's yard, split a bunch of wood there and were finally able to call it a day...all before 4:00! We would have stacked Jordan's wood as well but his log holder started to bow in the middle and so we stopped. Once he reinforces this and stacks he will most likely have leftover wood and we can top ours off. So excited for my future fires.

After we completed all of the above, we relaxed with a few beers, I took a bath and then I made dinner (Cari dined with us). Once Cari had put Emmit to bed, I headed over for a couple drinks. Home and in bed by 10:30. (I woke up with a bit of a sore throat but it's gone already.)

Today - since my "jobs" are done I plan on laying out! WOOT! Didn't think I'd get to do this today so bonus! Other than that, I've got no plans. Dinner for sure though...maybe pork chops.

Time for mimosas! Happy Sunday. Later!

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!!!

So when I got on the computer today, the first headline I saw said, "It Hurts To Say But Sometimes Donald Trump Speaks the Truth". How stupid! I mean, it hurts to say but you're ugly. Don't shoot the messenger! It's the truth! Come on! Just because things are true doesn't mean you have to say them! Who wants a president who has diarrhea of the mouth!? Not me. No one wants someone leading our country who reacts to every negative comment made about him/her with a playground comeback ("I know I am but what are you!?") Ridiculous! When is this guy going to go away!?

Yesterday was MAJORLY productive! I got SO much done! I have only a few things left to do to feel like I'm not drowning and I should be able to get that done today! Monday will be the REAL start to my school year as that is when I will really start teaching. Whew!

Last night's Open House was uneventful. I met 2 sets of new parents, had 2 old parents show up and that's it. A pretty piss poor turnout. Just the way I like it!

The weather right now is down right lovely. I can't wait to get to school (well, come on...I can wait) and open the windows to let the cool air in. Our room has been oppressive with the heat and humidity (they can't seem to figure out the cooling system) but with the cool front that moved in - it should be quite comfortable today.

This evening, when Jim and I get home, we'll move the wood for splitting into the driveway. Jim will get the splitter tomorrow morning and then we'll stack on Sunday. Thankfully, Jordan our neighbor will be there to help today and Sunday. It's his wood so that's why he's assisting. Can't wait to get it all split and stacked! Can't wait for our first fire. I think I'll get the chimney cleaned this year...it's time.

Okay well - I have some copying to do at school before kids arrive so I better get a move on. TGIFF!!!  Later!

A Good Night's Sleep

Slept like a LOG last night. I went "down" around 8:00 and don't remember much after that. I did wake up at one point when Jim came to bed, or maybe he had come to bed, fell asleep himself and then left the TV on. I turned it off and wondered for a minute if I would be able to get to sleep. Next thing I remember was my alarm going off. Woot!

School was fine yesterday. A lot of first day hiccups but overall things are fine. My first period class is one seat away from being full and the stupid guidance counselors keep putting people in there. Dumb asses! I had to send an email and say STOP!!!

The f&%k ups dealing with the schedule became quite prevalent yesterday when one of our kids showed up from his morning lab in the morning at the career center (he will take his academic classes in the afternoon with us) with a schedule for morning classes at the high school. This is exactly why I kept insisting we needed a LA class in the morning and afternoon. He will now be in a regular ed class and let me tell you - this kid will only pass because of kind teachers. Poor kid. A definite fail on the part of my principal...for sure.

Today I will be at school from 7:00 until 8:00...and I don't mean just the one hour...thirteen. I'm choosing to stay during the break between the end of school and Open House because I need to get shit done. I hate that I don't have a PREP period until 6th period...makes it hard to do stuff and get stuff done at the beginning of the year. But no worries...I'll get used to my schedule and figure it all out. I just have to keep telling myself that the beginning of the year is always like this.

Okay well I best mosey. I need to make copies when I get to school for my kids and then figure out what I'm doing in class...mainly just history. Happy Thursday...ooh, tomorrow's Friday. Woot! Later!

School Is Officially In Session

First day back today! I'm doing my best to have a positiver attitude about this. I'm trying to keep my chin up and remember that with each day, I'm one day closer to summer and retirement!

Yesterday was not too terribly productive for me. I did manage to get my IEPs out to the regular ed teachers and I touched base with my new parents (had to leave messages for a couple) but that's about it. I figure today will be a day of getting to know my new students, talking about our summers, laying down my procedures for classes and then having the students ready their binders. We won't be doing much "learning" this week...just getting back into the swing of things.

One unfortunate aspect about today is that I've basically been awake since 12:30 last night. I went to bed around 8:00, fell asleep soon after and then I was up...and watched the clock from 12:30 until, I believe the last time I peeked was about 3:30. I'm rather tired but no big deal...I'll manage.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LISA!!!  She is often unlucky enough to have her birthday on one of the first days of school...bummer but at least it will soften the blow of the first day. We girls will make it special for her.

And that's about all I've got. I need to get to school early so I can get a few piddly things done before kids arrive. It'll be nice to be so close to the entrance doors though so we can snag a couple students and show them our new room before they head off to where we used to be.

Happy Wednesday to all! Wish me luck! Later

The Amazing Eva!!!

I'm not sure I want her to join the circus but I'm sure she could with those talents!

So things yesterday went well (as well as can be expected when it's the first day of school). We had our meetings and the presentation to the members regarding the tentative agreement seemed to go over well. There were only a few people (the typical shit stirrers) who wanted to cause a problem with the plan. I got some stuff done yesterday - mainly piddly stuff to make my day today a bit easier.

Today - first thing, at 8AM, we will have a meeting with our insurance broker. He's coming in to answer questions regarding the HSA. My biggest question involves how the account is set up.

Jim and I had dinner next door at Cari and Jordan's. She made Shrimp Boil and it was so yummy. It's so easy and Maggie - I think Charlie would LOVE it. Cari just used the Zatarain's seasoning and added corn, kielbasa, shrimp and red potatoes. So simple and delicious! I will definitely make this in the future.

And that's all I've got for today. I need to get a move on because I would like to get an early start at school so that I can get everything done that I need to.  Happy Tuesday! Later

Sami's Pissed & Confused

Sami is confused because Jim and I both got up EARLY (Jim at 5:00; me at 5:15) and she knows our bags aren't packed.  She has thus deduced that school is starting. Just like her momma, she calls BULLSHIT!!!  One lucky thing about this year is that we are starting on a Monday (rather than a Friday) which means the kids don't start until Wednesday and it makes for a "short" week. And have I mentioned that I have NO idea what I'm going to do in LA to start? Ruh-roh.

PIB was great fun. We did a lot of hanging out, swimming, drinking, and wave running. Maggie and I took a trip around the island and it was ROUGH! I never felt worried though...that's good since I tend to get nervous in overly large waves. I think it was because Maggie was driving. Hopefully we'll get back in October...not sure if that will be possible or not but we'll do our best.

So today will be full of meetings and we'll hear the new superintendent speak. I get my 15 year pin...woot. Oh, and the tentative contract will be presented to the members. I'm sure there will be some people up in arms about the HSA but I don't know how it could get voted down with our two steps being returned to us. I'm hoping people aren't stupid and not just because I'm sick of the negotiation meetings.

I don't really need to be at work until 7:30ish (and not even then since I won't be eating breakfast). First meeting doesn't start until...shit, I have no idea...maybe 9:30? We have our breakfast then the vendor fair (which I don't care about), meeting with all of the district and then our union meeting. We'll then break up for lunch and then our building meetings. Afterwards, we'll get to work in our room. I'm happy that this year we WON'T be going off campus for lunch. Normally we go to the Jack Nicklaus golf center which is a pain in the ass because the ATP is going on but this year, they're doing a "taco bar" for us at the high school.

Okay...guess I should go finish getting ready. Later!

Hi Mom!

Mom gets mad when I don't post so this is for her (even though we're together at the Bay)

Day Before Jobs

I spent all of yesterday working on school stuff - schedules and whatnot - I think I'm done and I'll share with my peeps so they can benefit. Had several messed up schedules (only a couple were mine) and several students who withdrew or opted to go to the career center (I assume because they have no schedules).

Today - I will clean house, run some quick errands and pack. Jim will have to pack today since he's working a 4-midnight shift. I'm hoping he's home at a reasonable time so he gets a little sleep before I get him up at 4 AM. I hope to be on the road by 5 and at the ferry by 9 or 9:30. I've decided to take my car over for a couple reasons and since we're going home on Saturday, it won't be an issue. I can't wait to get there and I'm doing everything in my power to NOT think too much of the fact that this time next week, I'll be at school. WAHHHHH!!!  My neighbor started school yesterday so I guess I shouldn't be too sad.

Last night was fun. Around 6:30, I went and picked up Indian food, headed to Cari's and we hung out to catch up on Bachelor in Paradise. What a shit storm of crazy that show is...so good. It's impossible not to watch and enjoy the ridiculousness once you get started.

When is Donald Trump going to go away? I'm so sick of looking at his mug and listening to the shit rolling off his tongue. I can't believe that people are actually looking to him as a leader for our country when he constantly, childishly insults...and NO ONE is safe. Can you imagine how he'll react to world leaders when he feels slighted? He'll send us to war with half the countries in the world because he can't keep his trap shut. He might as well spew things like, "I know you are but what am I" and "I'm rubber and you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you". Or how about, "Up your nose with a rubber hose." Such a douche!

Okay well, I guess I'll get my day started. This time tomorrow, I'll be on my way. Later!

Sad

I know that he may have been 84, but Frank Gifford's passing seems just shocking to me. Probably because it was so unexpected and sudden and I was just watching her last Friday. Poor Kathie Lee. I got up this morning just in time to watch the Today Show and just the intro made me tear up. Sad. Sudden and so sad. But they had a nice long marriage together and have two beautiful kids to show for it and I'm sure she's got a TON of support through this.

And then Hoda cried and set me into tears. Damn you Hoda! (Although I can't really blame her as I cry at the drop of a hat.)

Okay - I'm good now. No more tears.

So Saturday I sent Jim to the store for a couple items. He needed gas as well so, I told him to buy about $200 in gift cards since they're 4x fuel points (he got 90 cents off!). He got a variety of cards, one of which was to Mimi's Cafe. We had never been there so we decided to go last night. What a menu. They had everything from chicken and waffles to pot roast to burgers to salmon and a ton more. It was really pretty good. I always have my "test" dishes when I go to a new restaurant and I was pleased with the pot roast. Jim had brick roasted cowboy chicken and loved it. We also had an appetizer - a trio of deviled eggs (yummy). I would certainly go again.

Plans today are just to get ready for PIB (laundry and cleaning) and probably some school stuff and quilting. It's rainy here today (with a chance of storms) so there you go. Jim has a 1:15 appointment with his dermatologist (yearly check up and he has a mole he wants checked out) and then he works this evening again.

And that's it. Happy Monday to all. I expect more pics from my peeps at PIB today (via FB)...don't disappoint me!  Later.

Not A Fan

So I don't like Good Morning America during the week but on the weekends, I watch it. Well, see, I'm really forced to watch it because the Today Show isn't on during the weekends here until 8:00 so at 7:00 it's GMA. I do like Dan Harris a lot but his sidekick - Paula Faris - is ANNOYING! And she just said a word that isn't a word! She said, "all acrossed the United States". Um, it's across the U.S.! "Acrossed" isn't a word! And how, as a journalist, as someone who talks for a living, do you not know that!? Of course I'm extra sensitive because she ALWAYS says stupid shit! Arg! She tries to be funny and she just ISN'T. For instance, after a story today where two kids holding hands and got struck by lightning (they were fine) she said, "I really got a charge out of that story." And then no one laughed.

Okay - so the couple on Youtube with the husband sneaking his wife's pee from the unflushed toilet to do a pregnancy test? Have you seen it? So contrived, planned, staged, and annoying. That guy is a TERRIBLE actor and boy does he love himself. I mean that video went on forEVER! Stupid.

Today's plans - not sure. We were going to do log splitting but I'm not sure that will happen due to Jim's late work nights this last week. We may have to put it off for a couple weeks which I hate because it will put it off until after school starts. YUCK! Oh well.

What else? Nothing. Time for a mimosa. Later!

Plans Foiled

Well, my original plans for today were to haul wood to the driveway in preparation for splitting wood tomorrow (stacking Saturday) but it looks like that will have to be pushed off due to rain. Bummer. We'll see if we can do it tomorrow instead.

Mom will be here later this afternoon. She's going to have lunch with Madison and then be here after. Tomorrow, she'll head to Columbus and then, Saturday morning, LET THE PARTY BEGIN!!!  She'll be whooping it up in PIB all week. She hasn't been there, I believe since my wedding...she's going to have a blast! I'll be there either Monday or Wednesday (depending on Jim) and I can't wait!

What else? Nothing. Exciting, huh? Sorry...I'm boring.

Oh, don't forget tomorrow (starting at 12:01 tonight) is a tax-free shopping holiday. I'll try and do some online school shopping...hoping that deals will be had. We'll see.

K - I'm out...Jim's still sleeping. He didn't get home until 1:00 and I fell asleep waiting for him to come to bed. Best be quiet so he can get his beauty sleep.

Celeb Breakups

First Ben and Jen.

Then Gwen and Gavin.

Next Reba and Narvel (after 26 years!)

But the straw that broke the camels back: Miss Piggy and Kermit!?!?!  WTF!?!? I mean if muppets can't even make it work what hope do we humans have!? It's just so disheartening! I've had it! Love is just too hard I guess. UGH!

So I finally finished steam cleaning my carpets (after the debacle with my rented rug doctor on Sunday). Turns out my neighbor Cari has a steam cleaner so I borrowed that and bing bang boom...done. I'm now convinced I need one of my own. Hers is a Bissell and I liked it but after investigating different brands and reading different reviews, I'm thinking of getting a Rug Doctor. It has greater power, is less cumbersome, stores better and takes less work. I've put it on my "wish list" with Amazon (so I don't forget which machine I'm after) and will most likely purchase in the next month or so. Exciting, huh? (Free delivery with Amazon Prime!)

Oh, and wouldn't you know that after I had completed all my carpet cleaning (including vacuuming after they dried), Sami got sick (threw up). Just a tiny spot and it came up quickly but isn't that how it always works!?

So today - Jim doesn't work again until 4ish so I'll have dinner on my own. I'm actually glad he's going in late today since he needs to clean his room in preparation for my Mom's arrival. Just needs to put his clean clothes away...no big deal. For me, I'm not sure what I'll do. Maybe a little quilting, a little sunning - nothing big.

Friday, Jim will be off work (his boss doesn't want him getting more than 40 hours this week and that will happen Thursday) so we'll most likely rent a wood splitter and get our winter load complete. Crossed fingers that it will happen as planned. We'll borrow the neighbors truck, move the wood (from neighbors yard to our driveway) and then get the splitter and go to town. Most likely we'll get as much done as possible and then just stack Saturday.

And that's all I've got. Time to get Sami her walk. Later!

Poor Jimmy Part 17

(Seems I have a blog post titled "Poor Jimmy" just about once a month...weather it's because he pulled a Jimmy or because of other circumstances.)

So why poor Jimmy? Well, last week he worked 21 hours overtime (including working a 12 hour day Sunday). The job he's been on (the one for the cause of his overtime) is long and had to be mostly completed by yesterday. Unfortunately, Jim had to work it alone (for the most part), a job too large for one person, because most of the other workers at his company are on the Radison project down in Covington (28 floors being painted). After working 12 hours Sunday, he had to go back to the job yesterday morning for what was supposed to be a couple hours. He ended up there from 7 until 4 and then he had to come home and leave after grabbing dinner to work from 5:30 - 12:30 last night. I didn't hear him come in but he's currently still in bed. Today he'll take a few hours down at said job before wrapping it up and then working again tonight until midnight. UGH!

A few  good things about all of this, however, is that he'll have a SWEET paycheck this week, he'll most likely get Friday off and it makes the possibility of him being able to go to PIB next week more likely (though that is still slightly up in the air...I'm giving him until Thursday to have a definite answer).

Today's plans: Not sure what I've got in store. I may just hang here and do some cleaning (Mom will be here Thursday on her way to Columbus), quilting and tanning (if it's nice).

I got a TON done in our room yesterday. Lisa and I unpacked nearly ALL of the boxes in our new room (there were about 50 or more). Lisa still needs to get her "cooking cabinet" together but other than that, it's done. I got my LA/SS cabinet together as well as my desk and everything is in it's place. We still need to get one computer hooked up and Lisa's phone moved (they accidentally hooked it up to Kim and Diane's computer). We made great headway though and opening day and our work day should be much smoother.

In terms of schedules at school things are still slightly effed up but at this point they won't be fixing it (because they are morons and it's too late at this point). I'm a bit pissed at FW as well (and yes, she is still deserved of her nickname). Apparently the annoyed email that I sent her regarding the effed up schedules - she just forwarded to the guidance secretary who was taking care of scheduling (which I wasn't aware of). This was an email not meant for anyone else's eyes but hers and so the secretary thought I was being an asshole to her and got pissed. I explained to her yesterday that my annoyance had nothing to do with her but rather our "fearless" (faithless) leader. Looks as though he passed the buck and in doing so he went back on all the promises he made to our department (we would be a priority, we/our students would come first...la la la la la...a load of bullshit). At this point, I should just not care (like the majority of my department) and point fingers but I can't...it's just not in my nature.

So that's all I've got. I guess I should go see what's up with Jimmy...don't want him to get in trouble for sleeping so late. Happy Tuesday. Later!

Trek To School

I woke up this morning to thunder and lightning. It's currently still storming, a bit, but is supposed to stop by around 8:30.

I'll be heading up to school today (meeting Lisa there) to start the unpacking process in our room. Hopefully our computers are hooked up and furniture is in the proper spots (Lisa went up last week to inform the custodians where we wanted thing). I'm guessing that this will take a couple of trips/days to complete. I checked schedules for school just now and everything is STILL screwed up. Not sure how long I'm supposed to wait before pitching a fit. I'll stop in today to see the either the guidance secretary or principal. I've emailed my department head but she just ignores me so that does me no good. Frustrating. Especially when my LA classes are split in such a way that I have 14 kids in one class and only one in the other (and that student is in BOTH classes). Ridiculous.

What else? Poor Jimmy. He's been working like a maniac lately. He had two 12 hour days last week and then had to work yesterday for 12 hours. He was supposed to have a 4PM start today but had to go in this morning to finish the job he wasn't able to finish yesterday (and then go in at 4:00 and work until midnight). This is all good for the bank account but I feel bad for Jimmy. He was exhausted last night when he got home and didn't even eat dinner.

Well, I best get on the elliptical and then in the shower. Can't walk Sami since it's still storming...I'll do it later. Happy Monday. Later!

The Party Continues

It's been such a delicious last couple of days and today is brewing to be the same (maybe the best yet). Thursday was an unbelievably beautiful day and I got to spend it with Maggie, Eva and Dad...at the POOL!!!  The sky was so blue it hurt my eyes. I haven't seen a sky like that all summer. Then yesterday I got to spend MORE time at the pool with Maggie, Eva, Becky and Dad for a bit and AGAIN it was GORGEOUS!!!  Top that off with a great time at the Reds game and you'd think, "Hey...weekend complete...I'm ready face another week!" Well buckle up because today is going to be a doozie! All day at the pool with Maggie, Charlie, Eva, Anne, Max, Madison, Steve, Trip, Susan, J.J., Dad and Becky! And JIMMY (haven't seen him much this week). Lunch and dinner there...pool, swimming, volleyball (I got and installed a new net and it's awesome), beers, wine, sun...YAY!!! Sami will be taken care of mid afternoon by my neighbors (I love my neighbors). As Eva would say, "This is the life."

What else? Nothing much. I'll be headed up to school Monday for some unpacking. Didn't get my teaching schedule and yesterday was the deadline. Interesting. I won't make issue of it...maybe.

Can't believe it's August 1st. This summer, that is still going, is flying by.

Okay well I have a lot to do today before I head over to Raeburn so I'd better get a move on. Later. Happy Saturday!
