C-Bus Bound

This may have to be relatively short since I need to finish up packing.

Plans today: I'll be at school for the first half but I'm hoping to find out who my sub is for 5th period so that I can make sure they show at 10:30. If that happens, then I can leave at 10:00 because it's my plan period. Either way though, I'll  hopefully be at Maggie's door by 11:30.

The only real plans this weekend are to go see Mom and figure out what's what. From everything Maggie says, it looks promising that she can go home. The fact that she wants books to read? Good sign. Looking back at everything that happened and then reading about the symptoms of a UTI in the elderly, I think she had a UTI for weeks probably. The things it can do the brain in the elderly is something. Hallucination, not to mention massive confusion, even aggression, basically everything mom was suffering. She's been on antibiotics for several days now and has made remarkable progress. This isn't to say that she won't need in-home care. That can only be a good thing for her. And like Maggie said, the boost I'm sure she'll get seeing her cats will, I'm sure, do wonders.

There will of course have to be "rules" for mom going home. First and foremost, she needs to be honest. If she's feeling wonky, she needs to say it. She can't tell tall tales about her eating either (or hide bagels in her pocket!). She's obviously prone to UTIs so we have to keep that in check.

Jim and I ended up going out to eat last night at Ramsey's in downtown Loveland. I really like that place and they have a great beer selection. It was raining like you wouldn't believe though. I'm so sick of rain. I miss the sun. At least it won't rain today although it will be gloomy.

I'll be home Sunday. My plan is to get home by about noon...maybe meet Jim at Shooters and then come home to watch football. I have a couple new recipes I want to try and I think I'll do one of them for Sunday night. Either a creamy zucchini sauce with pasta or homemade Detroit style pizza. When the Lions played the other day they were talking about this pizza and it looked so freaking good! It's a deep dish baked in a 9x13 metal pan. I'll have to make my own dough but I'm all in. Now I've got myself all excited. Guess that's what I'm making.

K - I'm out. Happy FRIDAY!!! YAY! Later!
