Short Week (With Kids)

This week is a full week for me but Friday is an in-service so I'll only have kids 4 days this week which is nearly as good as having a 4-day week. Friday's in-services will allow me to work in my room for the first half of the day and the 2nd half is remote training for the new teacher evaluation system that Ohio has once again decided to revamp. Annoying.

My week at school will be a bit hectic because I have 2 IEP meetings, one of which also includes the ETR (three year reeval). This is for a new student who really doesn't qualify for services but she's definitely got some social emotional issues so I'll write a goal for self-advocacy. I haven't written the IEP yet either and the meeting is Wednesday so I need to get on it! Ugh! Guess I know what I'll be doing today. I need to send a draft home but the parent hasn't provided all the info that I've asked for as well as what our school psyche needs. Annoying.

The weekend was good. Friday we just hung out. We had leftovers for dinner and I took a lovely bath and then hit the hay. Saturday we went to Shooters and then headed out for my friend Terri's house for a little Oktoberfest get together. It was chill and we were home by about 9:00 or 9:30. Sunday Jim and I did some yard work but it was pretty back breaking and I had to do much of it since Jim's still on restrictions but we managed to get the trench mostly dug out and prepped for the drain to be put in. Jim will finish that up this week and then hopefully we'll have seed laid and our grass will start growing before fall hits.

Watched the Bengals game...frustrating. I'm certainly glad they won but it shouldn't have been as close a game as it was. Our defense looked great and Joe Burrow looked great. I can't say I was happy about Zack Taylor's risky calls either. He's just not head coach material. But again, they won and thank God we didn't have another year with a tie!

There's some sort of animal out there screeching and getting Scout all hopped up. He wants out but I don't want him going out barking like a fool.

Dinner tonight will be some sort of grilled chicken. Actually, I might grill some chicken and make myself a salad. Jim still can't really have salad so maybe I'll make him a sandwich or something. I'll think on it today.

Speaking of Jim, he has his final follow-up appointment with the surgeon today. I would imagine that she'll tell him that he can go back to work next week. Fingers crossed! I need Jim back at work if only to get back to some normalcy...of course I need him to finish the shit in the yard first.

Okay well, I guess I should get to work and write that IEP so I won't have to stress about that. Happy Monday! Here's hoping it's a quick week. Later!
