Typical Weekend

Another weekend in the books, pretty much doing the same thing. Jim ended up home by 3:30 on Friday so we just got some Chinese for dinner and then I enjoyed a lovely bubble bath before hitting the hay. Saturday we went to Hoppin' Vines, played a game of duckpin, had a couple beers, went to Currito for lunch and then home. I took Scout on a walk in the afternoon and had a tough time (more on that in a minute). Saturday evening, Doug and Lauren came over and we played cards LATE. I didn't get to bed until after 11:00! That's like 3AM to 20 or 30-year olds! Anyway, Sunday it was raining cats and dogs so after breakfast, Jim and I played some Skip-bo and then I exercised and bathed and after we went to Shooters. When we got home, it had mostly stopped raining so I took Scout for a REALLY long walk, which didn't kill my feet (different shoes). I made a chicken/rice soup for dinner and went to bed early.

So my shoes are relatively new and I'm finding they just aren't cutting it. When I went for my walk on Saturday, I hit the hilly route I take (it's a walk that's just under 4 miles). Normally all is well...no issues but Saturday, my toes were killing me. They felt like they were on fire. It was terrible. I even had to stop and take my right shoe off for some relief. Guess I need to find a different pair. I'll try to see if they do better with the elliptical. I think it's the arch in them. My feet are so flat so I don't know...so annoying.

This week should be routine. No meetings and nothing to disrupt the week so that's good. Next week is going to be all jacked up but that's fine...breaks up the monotony. I'm almost finished reading To Kill A Mockingbird with the kids and I look forward to showing them the movie. I'll try to read one more book with the kids (Kindred) so I need to get those chapter questions prepared. Not much else happening with school.

Dinner tonight - Chicken Bolognese with a salad.

And that's all I've got. Time to get a move on. Happy Monday...here's to a quick week. Stay safe, healthy and content. Later!
