Maybe it's because it's the end of the school year and I'm just spent. Maybe it's because I've been exercising a bit more (stress relief and I want to lose a few pounds). Maybe it's because I'm getting older. I don't know but by the time dinner rolls around (6:00 or 6:30) I'm about to drop. Of course I don't and I try to make it to 7:30 before going upstairs but man would I like to. And then, I sleep so hard! I'm not complaining about that, believe me, but it makes it hard to roll out of bed when the alarm goes off. Basically I'm more than ready for my Spring Break next week.
Speaking of which, I should totally call in sick tomorrow. And here's why: We got an email earlier in the week saying that no more personal days would be approved for Friday because we had hit our max number of requests in the building. Guaranteed another 5-10 teachers will call in "sick" and we'll have no subs to cover. Wouldn't it be nice if we had so many call ins that they had to go remote?! Plus, my administrators have been dicks lately so I'd like them to deal with a little angst. But...that's not who I am. So I won't call in but I'd sure like to.
Watching the news this morning the weather woman said that our winds overnight tonight could be bad and those of us in the warning area, if we have a lower level, we should maybe sleep there tonight. When I told Jim, he was PISSED that the weather person would say such a thing to me. He said, "Why would she say that to you!?" And I said, "Because she knows me and knows I'm going to freak out!" I hate wind like that! Hopefully it won't be too bad but I'll be freaking out all night! Maybe I will be calling in tomorrow due to lack of sleep. Hmm...
In Richard news: He was completely out yesterday and they were unable to take out his breathing tube because his heart rate and blood pressure spiked. They'll keep trying and try to figure out what's happening there. I got a text from Tim, Richard's son who spoke to a nurse who said that his responsiveness has been intermittent. She stated they don't think there are any signs of significant neurological damage but they just don't know for sure. Right now it's a waiting game as they see how he progresses over the next couple of days.
And that's about all I've got. Dinner tonight will be Salisbury steak (with ground turkey), mashers and a veggie...a Jim request and Jim favorite. I don't know that I'll get to walk Scout today because the rain is moving in around the time I get home from work. We'll see.
Happy Thursday! I think I can get through today and tomorrow to make it to my vacation...we'll see. Stay safe and masked (Ted Cruz is an asshole! I can't stand to look at his greasy mug...watch the news if you don't know what I'm talking about). Later!
