Jim's driving me to work today so that he can take my car in to get an oil change. I've been meaning to do this but one thing or another has kept me from it so I'm grateful to Jimmy. HOWEVER, he's been warned that he better be on time picking me up from school or else. And I mean, if I have to wait even one minute past when I've told him to be there, there will be hell to pay! There's nothing worse than having to wait for your ride to pick you up when you're ready to skedaddle from work. And I speak from experience which is why I'm being such a dick about this.
Here's a weird/funny thing that happened to me yesterday. It has to do with my mentally ill student who's been home online these last months. Currently he's living (back) with his grandparents and his grandfather has become the "point person" in regard to educational issues. (I've not met him before. In the past I've always dealt with the grandmother or mother.) So we've been emailing back and forth trying to figure out scheduling for next year and finally we were able to talk on the phone yesterday. At the end of the conversation he says, "So, you're into yoga?" And I said, hesitantly, "Uh, yeah...how did you know that?" And he says, "I can hear it in your voice." He laughs and then says, "No, I Googled you and saw that you have a lot of yoga videos saved on your Youtube account." Huh...weird, right? Not that I'm surprised I mean we all Google each other and those of you who don't believe this to be true are kidding yourselves. It really doesn't bother me as I've been a "stalker" before when new people have moved into my neighborhood or we've hired new people at work. It is what it is and it's a sign of the times.Anyway, he then went on to ask me, "Do you have anything to do with the building in downtown Cincinnati, the Hanke Building?" And I told him that Jim would be so happy that he'd just asked me that! If you've ever talked to Jim for longer than 10 minutes, he's mentioned the Hanke building to you and the fact that it was owned by one of his relatives and it was the first department store in Cincy and it now is a stop on the streetcar (the Hanke Exchange).
Okay well, I need to crack the whip under Jim's ass because he's still puttering around in the kitchen in his pjs. Happy Tuesday (damn, I first thought it was Wednesday). Stay healthy and enjoy the warm up today! Later!
