Snow Day #2

I woke up around 1 AM to pee, saw what was outside and turned off my alarm upon getting back in bed. There was no question that a snow day would be called. Originally they said we should get about 3 inches in my part of town. South of the river was supposed to get 1-2. In the end, I think we probably have 8-9 and apparently they have approximately the same in the city and south of. In fact, they have the cut in the hill closed in Kentucky because all the snow that got dumped made it impossible for the semis to get up the hill and so now it's a parking lot. Ugh! What a mess. Needless to say, Jim (who doesn't have to work up in Dayton and instead is supposed to be downtown) won't be going anywhere for a while.

When I got up around 5:15 and opened the sliding glass door for the boys, they had a hard time getting through the snow. I immediately got the snow shovel and dug them a path. I highly doubt we'll get our walk in today but at least they'll have a good time and a good work out playing in the snow.

My plans for the day: I do have an IEP meeting that I need to go on with at 1:30 but I warned everyone yesterday that this would be the case. Realistically, the only team members who need to be there are the parent, student, me and a district rep. This is a kid who's been doing virtual school this year so I've excused the gen ed teacher. Plus, it should only take about 15 minutes to complete the meeting (assuming the parent went over the draft and has no questions).  Other than that, I'll do some yoga here in a bit, get on the elliptical and shovel the driveway. That's it. Dinner tonight will be what we were going to have last night: One sheet oven roasted pork tenderloin with potatoes and brussel sprouts.

Why didn't we have our planned meal last night? Well, as I was walking Scoutie yesterday, Jim called and said, "Meet me at Shooters?" Originally I said no but then I called him back and said, "Lets have dinner there instead." I mean, it was his birthday yesterday and I really didn't get him anything so I decided to throw him a bone.

And that's about all I've got. Time to finish this mimosa (that's right!) and go do some yoga (which should be fun...my balance will certainly be compromised). Happy Tuesday! Happy snow day! (More snow is coming Wednesday into Thursday as well!) Stay safe out there if you have to go out. Stay masked! Later!
