Horseshit

When I came upstairs this morning after feeding Boo (yup, Scout wouldn't eat) and getting my coffee, Jim told me that I said, "Horseshit!" in my sleep last night. This is funny for a couple reasons: 1) I don't know why I said that and have no memory of what I was dreaming and 2) this isn't a word in my everyday cussing vocabulary. Funny! I'm sure, as I'm sure you are as well, that I was talking to Jim...for sure!

You know those things on Facebook you see where you look at a jumble of letters set up in a word search layout and the first three colors you see tell about the kind of person you are? I don't normally do those but saw one this morning and wanted to see if it would mimic what the "friend" had when she did it. So my first three colors were green, yellow and black. My results said that I'm "Bulletproof". Ha! Here's part of what it said, "Muir can't stand liars and drama queens, and she won't sugarcoat her words for anyone who dares to betray her trust. Muir keeps it real." That's definitely me!

You may be wondering if Jim was on time picking me up yesterday. Are you really wondering? Really? Did you really think that he'd be there when I asked? Maybe it's me that's the fool because I keep expecting him to fear my wrath and it just never seems to matter to him how pissed I get. I do actually think he likes getting berated for his selfish ways. When I was at my desk at the end of my day, I picked up my phone and checked his whereabouts on Life360. At that time - 2:17 - he was on Wards Corner (which is the exit I take to get to my house so about 5 minutes from my home). I asked him to be at school at 2:25 and he was about 15 minutes away at that point. I mean, what an asshole! Oh well...I made my bed, right?

What else? Dinner tonight...I might grill something because it's going to be warm out but I'm not really sure. I have so many leftovers and don't want to make something else that will produce more. It's a pickle.

I should totally get this mug for the meeting
I should totally get this for the meeting!
I (and a guidance counselor and an admin) got an email the other day from a set of my needy parents asking for a meeting about their son (a junior) who is failing several classes because he's not doing the work. This is a kid who's smart and shouldn't be failing. I've been updating them for the last 2 quarters about his missing work and his seemingly uncaring attitude. I wonder if he's going through something...depression, anxiety, I don't know. It's so annoying though because they moved him to another Algebra class (which moved him out of my class so I never see him now) because they felt the teacher was the root of his problems. Guess what? He's still failing Algebra and not doing the work. He's missing 9 assignments in another class and just not doing shit. I mean, sure...we can meet...we can put a "plan in place" but the ultimate issue is that the kid needs to do the work. Or they need to get him in some therapy. So annoying that I have to sit in a meeting now (in person for fuck's sake). Waste of time.

Okay I'm out. Time to get to work. Happy Wednesday! Later! Stay safe!
