Sorry I haven't posted...sort of forgot and was busy in Columbus.
What did I do in Columbus? Lots of playing with Eva's animals (we would take them out of her giant barrel in her room and set them up so they could "watch the big game") and watching Christmas specials. She was so much fun and funny and I can't wait to see her Christmas Eve. Of course on that day, she'll have nothing to do with me because J.J. will be there (as well as her other cousins) and she only sees them when they are around. That's okay though...I'm not greedy.
News of Jim: We are still stuck in a waiting game. His doctor consulted with a thoracic surgeon and the next step will be a CT scan. He should hear today from someone to schedule this. The test is short, not invasive and shouldn't take too long. I'm hating the not knowing part of this...it's wearing on my nerves. I haven't slept well since hearing (I was up from about 11:00 - 3:00 last night) and had a couple of breakdowns with the imagining. I'm trying not to do that but it's hard. Unfortunately, my latest little crying jag was at dinner last night. Jim asked how I was doing and I just sort of lost it. UGH! I need to NOT do that to him. Jim is trying to stay positive as well but I can tell it's affecting his mood. He just seems a bit down. I can't blame him but we have to stay in a positive mindset.
So today I have lots to do. I'll do my final grocery shop (get salad stuff for X-mas eve etc.), a final clean before Mom and Richard get here, wrap gifts and of course, walk Sami. Most of my pre-Christmas Eve cooking will happen tomorrow (lasagnas, hanky pankies, brownies). Jim needs to get one more gift, fix the toilet down here (the flapper quit working and it's driving me CRAZY!!!) and head to Bishop to get a table and chairs.
My quilt - I finished it! The edges took no time at all - I had it ironed, pinned and sewed in about an hour. Woot! I think this is my best creation so far. Meaning: I had NO errors that caused me to take out stitches; all my cut pieces were even and the edges were almost completely perfect. YAY! I hope Susan likes it and I look forward to making my next blankie!
Okay well, Sami is giving me the business because she needs her "pills" (or as Maggie calls them "'placebos"'). She's so bossy! Mom and Richard should hopefully be here around 3 or so...can't wait! Happy Monday! Later!
