Are Pigs Flying?!

I got an email from Linguini's mother yesterday (my wacky autistic senior who can't make a decision about his future to save his life) and apparently Linguini is on board and has applied to the career center for their digital media program. I can't actually believe this has come to fruition. See, these parents have in the past let Linguini make any and all decisions when they may not be good for him and don't push him to deal with real life situations. The parents are realistic in that they have legally obtained guardianship (L. is over 18) but they seem so afraid to "poke the bear" that they don't seem to be acting as parents.  I'm so excited for Linguini and hoping that he sticks with his plans and doesn't allow fear of the unknown to change his mind.

In other news - NEW CARPET TODAY!  That isn't new news but it is exciting. Jim will have to move most of the furniture into the Florida room today because he didn't get home until after 6:00 last night (he was doing a side painting job) but I think he'll be okay.  I'll help with the couch and armoir but we can do that right when we get home.  The carpet guy should be here around 3:00 today and it should only take a couple hours...fingers crossed that there are no hiccups.

I have my final IEP of the year (until January) this morning.  Shouldn't be too much of a big deal and shouldn't take that long.  I sent a draft home so hopefully we can just go over the basics, talk goals and get out of there.  This is a meeting for Horshack - my other wacky autistic kid.

And that's about all I've got.  Lots of rain today and the heaviest will come around the time I get home which means Sami won't get her walk - again.  UGH!  Poor girl.  I'll at least try to walk her up the road and back.  I couldn't yesterday because of the crazy sleet/snow/rain that fell. Didn't want to slip and break a hip.

K - happy WOOT WOOT Friday!!!  Two more work weeks after today!!!  Later!
