Pushing My Buttons!

So I just sat down to post. This after getting up, feeding the dogs, ellipticizing, getting Jim's coffee ready, then getting his protein (our) shake ready and Jim says to me, "You know the dishwasher is ready to be emptied." Does he want a punch to the temple this early in the morning? Because I'm happy to oblige! Of course he was kidding. He knows it's my least favorite job in the house.

I guess I need to find a new hobby now that I have no one to root for in baseball. I was thinking maybe I'll put in a pickleball court in my backyard. Wouldn't that be cool? Of course I won't be able to use it in the Winter. I'll keep thinking.

I'm sooooo ready for Friday, especially after dealing with stupid punks yesterday. Actually there was really only one punk but there were a slew of dummies. They just don't fucking listen and it's infuriating. An example: The kids in history were doing their study guide for Unit 2. At the beginning of class, I said, "Hey, the last two sections of the study guide aren't on the slideshows. You'll find the answers from the crosswords you did earlier in the unit which are in your binders."  I said this probably 3 times, at least. Not kidding, 3 kids said, "I can't find who made the hydrogen bomb." (That was the first questions from the sections.) I said, "Again, as I mentioned three times earlier you'll find those answers in your crosswords, which are in your binders." Not 3 minutes later, "Mrs. Hanke I'm stuck. Who invented the hydrogen bomb?" FUCK ME!!! If they were smarter and more cunning, I'd think they were doing this on purpose. Sort of gaslighting me. But I know they aren't...smart at least.

It should be an easy day. I say that and then jinx myself. In ELA we're watching Fantastic Beasts and then history we'll go over the dreaded study guide. Plus Stupid Baby (still need to figure out a better nickname for him) has thearapy this morning so I won't see him. Based on reports I've had for him this week, I think he's been good which means he'll get to see the therapy dogs! Woot! I really am rooting for this kid.

Speaking of SB: Yesterday we were working on writing sentences for his vocabulary. He dictated and I scribed for him. Every sentence went like this: Me - "The word is beleaguer, which means harass." SB - "Mrs. Hanke beleaguers me when I don't do my homework." Okay. Or: Me - "The word is Paucity which means lack." SB - "Mrs. Hanke has a paucity of patience when I don't do what she tells me." It was pretty hilarious and his teacher loved it.

Okay, so, the weekend: Once again, we have few plans other than cleaning the shit out of the house. We're doing a deep clean which shouldn't actually take very long but sometimes Jim gets meticulous. Which isn't a bad thing but I often have to hurry him along. After that, I think we'll go out to eat somewhere. Pretty much our usual. I want take out Indian here soon so maybe tomorrow night.

Dinner tonight: I'm making the meatball hoagies I said I was making last night. I ended up doing chicken fritters last night with green beans and French fries.

And that's all I've got. Time to get moving so I can come home, walk Scoutie and then sit on my ass to finish watching GBBO and Survivor with a cocktail! YAY FRIDAY! Later!
