Man are the highways a mess. We've got lots of rain and people forgot how to drive and things aren't going to get any better throughout the day. I'm not mad about it because we need the rain but those fuckers on the roads better leave me the hell alone. I might actually take the back roads...we'll see what it's like when I hit the road.
School was fine yesterday and I was glad to finally start reading Harry Potter but I was really deep in a Monday mood. I just wasn't feeling it. And everything is doom and gloom at school with people really scared about their jobs and what's going to happen in our district if/when the levy doesn't pass. I'm trying to stay off social media where the haters hate (I'm one to talk) because the shit they say is awful but I also want to know where we stand with the community. Once again, I can't wait for this election to be over.
I bought some cookies at Aldi Saturday that are causing a problem in the Hanke household. They're pumpkin spice sandwich cremes (at left) and as Jim said, "They're pumpkin crack." I told him that I was going to have to hide them from him (I bought them to have with my evening tea at bedtime!) and he said to me, "Muir, I know where Aldi is." I need to share but Jim doesn't eat just 2. Well, he'll have two when he passes them in the morning; 2 when he passes them in the afternoon and 2 as he passes them on the way to bed. That's not okay with me! Definitely going to hide them.So yeah, I started to read HP yesterday and was very happy with how the kids paid attention. The first chapter in a book is always a rough one - hearing all these details about characters etc. - but the kids did really well and managed to stay focused throughout it. Fingers crossed they're even more invested today and things continue to go swimmingly.
Dinner tonight: I'm going to do a cobb salad. I've been having salads at lunch lately but because we have so many leftovers in the fridge, I'm going to have that today instead. So...for dinner, I'll have my salad. Exciting, I know.
My computer is being slow which is unusual since it's a school computer and typically lightening fast.
Okay well, I guess I'd better get going. Who knows what the roads are going to be like. Happy Tuesday! Later!
