Now What?

Yesterday, Stupid Baby said to me, "Teach! If the Reds don't win tonight what are we going to watch!?" He's a big Bengals fan and with Joe Burrow out and our hopes for a winning season dashed, I didn't have an answer for him. Now, however, I know. The Indians all the way.

And by the way, as Tito said last night, we have a special group of players and they aren't done growing. Next year!

The meeting yesterday with our union president was fine. The first thing he said to everyone is that he knew the question everyone was asking: Are admin positions going to get cut if this levy doesn't pass. His answer: Yes. The rest of his speech, he tried to lay the positivity on thick stating that he was confident the levy would pass. Based on this, I didn't think it was a good idea, nor the right place and time to ask my burning question. That burning question is: We've been here before. We've had doom and gloom in our future without the passing of a levy. But, then we passed it and we acted like everything was sunshine and roses. We acted like we had pots of money to spend (for admins and needless positions, not teachers). If we pass this levy, what proactive measures are we going to take to cut the shit? What are teachers going to demand of central office so that positions that don't have a job description and no one knows what they do aren't created. What are we going to do to ensure that the jobs of teachers and those that actually see kids every day aren't in jeopardy? My plan is to talk to him one-on-one and see what his answer is. He's pretty useless though and I'm sure he's just going to glad-hand me.

This week has dragged on and OH SHIT!!! I have an IEP meeting today. Until yesterday I thought it was Friday but alas, it's today at 11:30. It shouldn't be a huge deal and it's on Zoom but you just never know. It's for a freshman girl who is a bit of a pain in the ass. I really like her but she can be ornery at times. She likes to go to the bathroom and be gone forever. I think we've come to an understanding about that but sometimes she slips.

Dinner tonight: Meatball hoagies with fries and probably green beans.

This weather's starting to piss me off again. I want cool weather and some rain. My lawn was looking so good and the seed I'd put down was starting to sprout and now we're in another dry spell and it's annoying. It looks like showers aren't a possibility until next Tuesday and that's only a 54% chance. And Monday is supposed to be up to 85. Ugh! I want to turn off my AC! Fuck you Mother Nature!

Okay, I'm done bitching. Best get a move on. Happy Thursday! This time tomorrow...Later!
