Second of all: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRIP!!! (A day early since I won't be posting tomorrow). 59!? As handsome as ever! I hope you have a great day and get a Bengals win as a gift!
So at the end of the day yesterday, Greg stopped in my room saying he had something to tell me. He said he'd talked to his 7th bell teacher and he said, "Either go to the VP or go tell Mrs. Hanke." He started by saying he wanted to "do the right thing". He then proceeded to tell me that at lunch another student handed him something in a post-it note and told him to slip it in his pocket. He did and the unwrapped it and saw a small baggie with something in it. He told me that another student told him it was a "zig" (or a "zip" or a "xin", I'm not sure). Anyway, I told him that this isn't something he should be telling me that it needs to go to the admins. I then asked him who gave it to him and he handed me a name; a name that I knew was a student of Lisa's.
I called my admin and of course he didn't answer so I emailed him a brief synopsis and told him to call/come see me. When Lisa came in I told her the story. She then said that it as interesting because the kid Greg named had been late for 6th bell and said he'd been talking to Greg. Again, Greg told me that this happened at lunch which would have been about an hour before 6th bell. So I called Greg's 6th bell teacher and asked him: "Was Greg late for 6th bell?" In fact, he was early but immediately asked to go to the bathroom and then came in for the class about 2 minutes after it started. Interesting.
I then called Greg's 7th bell teacher and got his rendition. He said that Greg - as per usual - was talking (loudly) to another student about the situation. He heard him say that someone slipped him something wrapped in a gum wrapper. And that's about all he heard. He apologized for being green and not really knowing how to handle the situation. (Not sure why it's so difficult to know this is an admin issue but whatever.)
All of this means that when I get to school today I need to talk to the admin so he can deal with the situation. He probably won't but we'll see. I have no idea what Greg did with the said pill. I think it's interesting that the details of the story have changed from one telling to the next. And according to Lisa the accused student is not the type of kid to do this (his dad is a MAJOR big wig with the armed forces or something). We'll see how it all shakes out.
Today should be a bit of a circus for me. Other than work I have a dentist appointment after school. I also need to get last minute items for PIB. I still don't know exactly who is going to be up there with us and Maggie (!!!) hasn't told me what else besides chili we should have. I need to pack and get all my shit together not to mention I need to walk the dog, exercise and I'm sure there's more.
Scout's paw is still an issue. I ended up pulling out the cone yesterday because he wouldn't stop licking it. I did wrap it but he chewed it off. He's such a pain in the ass!
Dinner: Leftovers as we've got plenty.
And that's all I've got.
