Progress?

There seems to be some progress with Dad. Maggie and I went over yesterday morning but only stayed for a half hour or so because he was pretty much sleeping. However, when Becky and Cullen went later, he date, seemed much more alert and the therapist managed to get him out of bed and standing twice. He's still having issues with neck pain so they're going to coordinate his pain pill and muscle relaxer with his therapy. Additionally, they're going to put him in a soft collar so that he keeps his head upright when he stands/walks. Becky and Cullen went back to the hospital around dinnertime and took him a cheese coney...on the downlow. That isn't part of his cardiac diet so they had to smuggle it in. I'm sure he loved that and I hope it gave him a boost.

I don't know what happens from here with him and I don't really know what the outlook is. His kidney function is almost back to normal but he's still so yellow. The care team doesn't seem to be concerned about that, however. Maybe it has to do with the cyst he has on his liver...I don't know. I guess we just have to see how things progress over the next few days. Will he go back to the rehab center? I don't know. Will he get to the new house? I don't know. As I've said before, I just want what he wants. I want him to be comfortable and out of pain and not constantly struggling.

I'm headed back to school today which I'm not completely mad about. Even though that place is a total shit show, I can stomach being there and back to a little normalcy after these last several days. I'm not teaching anymore so I'll just get the kids ready for exams and then make sure I'm keeping up with final paperwork.

Here's some shitty news: The tech department wants us to keep our laptops at school this summer so they can update them. This sucks for a number of reasons. A) My computer sucks and is slower that molasses in January and B) What if I want to do work over the summer? Again, my computer sucks! C) You know they aren't going to do any updates until August so realistically, couldn't I just take my computer and return it when they get their shit together? I'll ask my tech dude when I see him today.

You'll be pleased to know the fraudulent charges on my credit card finally got figured out and I was finally credited with the money. Took them long enough but at least it's done.

Not sure about dinner tonight because I have some leftovers but maybe I'll save those for Friday and make chicken bowtie pasta. That sounds yummy.

K - that's all I've got. It's a rainy day here and I don't know if the boys will get their walk after school. Fingers crossed there's a break. Happy Wednesday. Later.
