I Don't Understand Birds!

Now that's a pretty bird!
The term bird brain makes so much sense. I think I've mentioned before that we have a daily calendar of birds. Jim got this for me at Christmas because he couldn't fine a dog one. Really though, it's a gift he got for himself. Not that I don't like it but he LOVES it. It always turns into a geography lesson though because Jim needs to know where the days bird can be found and half the time he doesn't know where that place is so it ends up being my job to show him on a map.

Today's bird is a Bohemian Waxwing. I'm sure you can guess what Jim's first question upon hearing this was: "Where's Bohemia?" I said, "I believe it's Eastern Europe. So then he asked Alexa, "Alexa?! Where is Bohemia?" She answered that it was part of the Czech Republic.  So then of course Jim said, "ALEXA?! Where are Bohemian Waxwings found?" She answered, "According to Birdzilla.com, Bohemian Waxwings can be found in Alaska, Washington and into Idaho." I mean, what the hell!? Why would you name yourself a Bohemian Waxwing if you aren't from Bohemia!? Birds are dumb! And your wings aren't made of wax! What the hell!?

Speaking of animals, I woke up at 3:00 this morning to the overwhelming stink of a skunk. It was awful. I had to shut the side window because it seemed to be worse there. I was nervous that it would still be around at 4:30 when I got up and the dogs would lose their minds. Thankfully that wasn't the case. I asked Jim about it but he didn't smell it, which I don't get. Smells always wake me up. Ugh.

Oh, my friend at work who's been in the hospital with gut issues? They did a scope yesterday but could only go so far because of the inflammation. The doc thinks it's the Ozempic she just started about 2 weeks ago. She's diabetic...it wasn't just about weight loss for her but that shit's scary. The doc said there just isn't enough research about what those drugs do and their side effects. Guess I'm just going to have to get lipo.

We went out for dinner last night (Mexican) and it was delicious. Tonight I'll make chicken. Probably the chicken with creamy basil sauce that I recently found. If not that then I'll grill but it's supposed to rain so that may shelf those plans.

No real plans for the weekend except to go visit dad tomorrow. As of now, Jim's working tomorrow but he mentioned that he may be able to finish the work today. If I know Jim though, that's doubtful...he always underestimates shit like that. Anyway, I'll probably head to see dad before noon. I'd also like to get my flowers this weekend but that may have to be put off until next weekend. We'll see. I did get my hibiscus so I'll at least try to plant those.

And that's about all I've got. Guess I should get a move on. Happy Friday...fingers crossed today flies by! Later!
