This week should be really easy and dare I say kind of enjoyable?! The main reason for this is that my principal will NOT be there! Woot! He's getting a knee replacement and that means that I don't have to listen to his stupid voice as he prattles on and on and on during morning announcements. The other reason the week will be easy is because, for the most part, I should be done with kids each day around 10:00. I have my first bell exam today at 7:30 and then when that's done, I think I'm sans kids. I do have a Guided Intervention 2nd period and there may be a kid or two coming it to take an exam but I'm pretty sure that isn't the case. It I don't have anyone, I'll head out to run an errand or two. I still have to be at school until 2:30 but who cares? I'll be cleaning up my room and finishing up paperwork.
The weekend was pretty good. Saturday Jim and I went down to see dad (he's good...more on that in a minute) and then headed to lunch at Rusty Bucket. I've not been back there since they discontinued the only thing I like on their menu (taco salad) but the brought it back for a limited time. Maggie says after this, it will be an special on Tuesdays...fingers crossed. Anyway, after that I came home and took a bike ride. Jim did too but he can't keep up with me and so he did his own thing...trying to build up his stamina. I just need to stay on him to do it because he tends to be a lazy ass.
Saturday night we just hung out and watched a chick flick (Mother of the Bride on Netflix). Sunday, we had our big breakfast, walked the dogs and then it was time for yardwork. I got the front and back lawn mowed while Jim cleaned out the beds. We also moved our fire pit to the next stump we need to burn out. Works like a charm, by the way, and a lot cheaper than grinding it. Since we didn't go to Shooters during our normal time, we decided to go there for an early dinner. It was kind of perfect because our spot was free and it was quick and easy.
Dad news: He's doing well and as long as all went well overnight, they'll move him back to Bayley. His appetite is still good and he seems motivated to work at getting stronger. I think he really wants to try and get back home. I'm not sure when the new house will be ready but fingers crossed that time will be what's needed for him to work at more independence and get there.
It's going to get to 90 today which means I'm going to break down and turn on the AC. Normally I refuse to turn it on before June but I don't want my poor boys to suffer and you know it's all about them.
I'm listening to a really good book that everyone lately has been raving about: The Women by Kristin Hannah. The main character, at 21, enlists in the army as a nurse during the Vietnam War. She has no idea what she's signing up for and her baptism by fire is quite the eye opener to say the least. So far it's really good but I'm only 18% into it.
Okay well, time to get a move on. Happy Monday! Happy last week of school for me. This time next week I'll be at PIB! Later!
