Birthday Boys!

Babies - not even a year!
Seven years old! Though they are certainly calmer than when they first came to us and they don't chew anymore (well, flip flops are still in danger as well as pens and possibly glasses) they still seem to have just as much energy as they did at 1. I say this as they tear out of the house in hopes of catching a squirrel who's taking the risk of running along the top of the fence. They still can get a ton of height when they try to scale the fence, so much so that it makes me nervous. I keep waiting for the day when their back legs aren't as springy but that day hasn't come. I love these boys the world and am so happy they came into my life (thank you Anne). I can't wait to take them to PIB tomorrow and I hope they're good and have the best time. (BTW - look how much they've changed! I remember when it was hard to tell them apart. Not anymore considering the sweater that Scout grew.)

2!
I went down to see Dad yesterday and it was so good to see him at home. Maggie and Eva drove down as well and we all just sat and chatted. The social worker was there when I got there...she seems nice. She helped to get Dad better situated in his bed. Dad's spirit is still high and he seems content. He said yesterday that he never expected to be able to see home again and also said he's so grateful for every breath he takes. He's still very yellow but his appetite is coming back a bit. He fills up quickly though. Of course he's still loving popsicles and ice cream.

Today Aunt Muir (Dad's sister) and my cousin Warren are driving down from Cleveland to see Dad. They'll get here around 3:00 and spend the night. Those of us who can will head down for a bit of an impromptu dinner. Trip's picking up Rafferty's, Anne's making brownies and I'll take the Graeters. Woot!

3!
Tomorrow Jim and I head to the Bay. I hope to get on the road by about 6:00 but I want to make sure the boys will be somewhat tuckered and ready for a 4-hour car ride. I'll give them an anti-anxiety med to help them cope with the drive and keep their nerves down. Jim and I will have a couple days alone before Doug and Lauren come up on Monday and then when they leave Wednesday, Maggie will come up, I believe. We'll be home Saturday.

Going on 7
My plans today are to finish up here, do some yoga, walk the dogs and then head to the grocery. I'll get what needs to be taken up to the bay and write my lists. I still need to pack and after that, there's not much to do. I will take my computer up to post...hopefully I'll remember but don't be surprised if A) I forget and/or B) I'm a little later than usual in them.

K - well, time to get a move ont. I'ts chilly here this morning but beautiful (50 degrees) which will make for a nice walk and maybe a nice bike ride later. I took one yesterday and it felt great. Happy Friday. Later!

Oh, and WOOT! Guilty 34 times over!
