Morningus Disruptivus

I was sitting on the couch this morning, enjoying my coffee, cuddling with my pups when I heard the not-so-dulcet sounds of footsteps above my head. This is strange because I don't get Jimmy out of bed until after my yoga. Even then he's usually not ready and it takes a few minutes for him to finally roll out of bed. Within a few minutes, he was downstairs brewing his coffee and I said, "Why are you up?" He answered with, "I woke up." Makes sense. However, this immediately meant my morning was going to go topsy turvy. See, when Jim gets up too early, he watches too much news and then when I come down to type this, he has lots to share with me, most of which I don't give a shit about. It's very distracting when I'm trying to write. Ugh!

Jim's scan went off with a hitch. I don't have his results yet but as is becoming the usual, he barfed from the contrast.  Thankfully he was prepared this time and asked for a barf bag beforehand so he had it on hand. His scan was done and he was just getting up when it hit him. Poor dude. He tried to prevent this from happening this time by making his appointment in the afternoon rather than early morning. His thinking was that the contrast so early, combined with his meds may have been the issue. Apparently not. Thankfully it didn't interfere with dinner last night and he was able to eat. He was in fact starved when he got home.

Speaking of dinner, we're having mahi mahi in a lemon garlic sauce tonight with brussel sprouts and rice.

School: My bad kid...I think I mentioned that he may be going to jail for a bit due to probation violation. Well, apparently he doesn't know this yet but is anticipating it and believing he's going to fail his drug test today when he goes to court, he's been freaking out. Which means, he's not been able to deal with school. I get it and am not mad about this. Better he freak out away from school rather than in class or at a teacher (me). He's also dealing with the approach of his father's birthday at the end of January. His father was killed in a motorcycle accident last year, two weeks after he had been released from jail. I mean...you can't make this shit up. It's sad.

And I believe I have nothing else to share. It's going to be a yucky rainy day and then the temps are going to drop and it will turn to snow overnight. I don't think it will stick which sucks because I'm really hoping for a snow day and that isn't going to happen. However, I'm headed into a 3-day weekend so there's that.

K - happy Thursday! Later!
