I've been worried about this and especially about Jim's cough lately and I did keep asking him about it but he seemed to think that it was just "post nasal drip" causing irritation in his throat. It doesn't seem that he was right, which is kind of how it went when he did have pneumonia about 2 years ago. You'd think we'd learn. The thing that irritates me though is that having gone to the doctor and being told this information, it's given Jim the "permission" to be sick or rather act sick. So when he came home yesterday, he was all mopey and groany and dare I say it, annoying.
Then he sat down in his chair and watched TV while I got dinner ready and he seemed to rally. However, when he came to the table to eat, he sat there with an empty plate, eyes closed and just sort of swayed a little. I tried to ignore it because it seemed so drama filled and more of a performance for me. I mean, 5 minutes before that, he was chuckling at Young Sheldon. Of course he claims later (after I had been mean and unempathetic and just overall annoyed) that when he stood up to come to the table the blood rushed to his head and suddenly it was pounding. THEN SAY THAT!
In the end, we had it out. I apologized for being such a nurse Ratchett. However, I did have to remind him that he couldn't be the boy who cried wolf. If he doesn't feel good, say it! Don't sway and moan and put on a show. You'd think by now he'd know that this only annoys me and makes me want to slap him and say, "SNAP OUT OF IT!" I told him I'd try to be a little more tender in my treatment of him as long as he was honest. I need him to feel what he feels but avoid letting what the doctor tells him to guide how he thinks he should be feeling.
BTW - he said he feels fine/better this morning. We'll see how it goes tonight. I'll keep you all informed about his next procedure. I'm guessing it will be next week...we'll see. I don't think it would be an overnight but what do I know.
Oh, dinner tonight: I think I'll make Pasta a la Betsey (it's a recipe by the Pioneer Woman's sister and has shrimp...kind of a vodka pasta kind of dish). That will make Jimmy happy. I hope. He barely ate last night.
K - time to get a move on. Happy Wednesday! Ooooh, I thought for a minute there it was Tuesday! Bonus!
