Day 1 Of Summer

Here we are after a long weekend and I'm at the beginning of my summer break! It's always a good feeling when I get to this spot: All the days of summer are in front of me and the only decisions I have to make are what am I going to do today! Hopefully these next several weeks off will creep by.

The weekend was lovely. The weather was perfect and surprisingly it seemed to really go slowly. Probably because I didn't have work at the end of it. Here's a bit of what we did:

  • Friday it was pretty rainy and yucky and after getting all the kids off the bus with water guns and ice cream we weren't sure the weather would hold out. But it did and so we had a nice cookout with the neighbors.
  • Saturday started out rather gloomy but it shaped up eventually. Jim and I went out for lunch to Agave and Rye and then came home for some hang time.
  • Sunday Jim and I, with our neighbors and a few of their kids, went to Raeburn for some fun in the sun. It was lovely and the pool felt so good. Sunday evening we played some cards with Doug and Lauren and just chilled.
  • Monday I got up and took a bike ride, we walked the dogs and then Jim and I went out to lunch. I had gotten a text from Shooters on Friday saying they'd be open on Memorial day but when we went, they weren't. Bit of bullshit if you ask me. I'll be mentioning that next time we go. Anyway - I'm glad they were closed because it meant we instead went downtown to Loveland and had lunch outside at Ramseys. It was lovely and yummy. They have a great menu too and good beer. It was packed - the bike trail I mean. Bikers who were expecting to go down and get a good ride in were probably quite frustrated. But they should know better if that was the case. Anyway - afterwards, we came home, I laid out for a bit, made potato salad for dinner and then just hung out later.
My plans for today: I've walked the dogs and after this I'll mow at least the front yard. If I'm feeling it I'll get to the back as well. I need to make a trip to Aldi but I'm not sure I'm motivated to do that. We'll see. Other than that I'll lay out and just enjoy my first real day off. Jim's at work and it's nice to have the house to myself.

Oh, and I'll be heading up to Columbus tomorrow for a couple days. I'll post tomorrow but probably not Thursday.

Dinner tonight will be kabobs and rice. I'll do chicken and shrimp with zucchini and mushrooms. Yummy!

K - happy Tuesday! Later!
