Done & Done!

You will be happy to know that the wood has been split and stacked! As you can see (and as you read last week) it was quite the task. From a busted splitter, to a busted up husband (who was a champion) to rain that just didn't seem to stop. With all that, we managed to power through yesterday and get it all done in pretty good time. We had the splitter rented for the day (pick up at 8:00 and drop off at 7:45) but we finished at 2:00 and Jim returned it so we weren't charged the full day.

I think it's safe to say we're set for the winter fires that I love and then some. I think we'll have enough for 2 seasons of burning. We'll see.

Surprisingly I'm not nearly as sore as I thought I'd be. I credit that with being proactive and making sure to step up my yoga in the mornings. My forearms and hands hurt the most but it's not bad.

So yesterday after we finished and Jim got back from returning the splitter, I took a long hot bubble bath. And what did Jim do? He cut the backyard! After doing all the clean up while I split and getting all the wood we didn't cut (buggy wood and way too huge to tackle) to the garbage, he had the energy to cut the back! I yelled at him (not really) but secretly I'm so happy he's getting his energy and strength back. Hopefully he continues on this track with his hip.

Speaking of which, he plans on going back to work part time soon. He can work on doors and door frames without much stress to his hip (no ladder work). On the one hand, I'm excited but on the other hand I'm going to lose my errand boy; my maid; my personal shopper! However, school is almost over so I'll be able to take on those jobs again myself.

Speaking of school - it should be another relatively easy work week. No meetings for me - expect my final meeting/paperwork with seniors. Woot!

The weather is supposed to be amazing this week and I plan on taking advantage of that. Jim's going to buy my flowers today and so I'll be able to get my planting done. I'm going to cut the grass today (front) after school and walking Scout. Other than that, I plan on some bike rides this week.

Oh, Saturday, I took Scout down to the trail and took him on a lovely 4 mile walk. He loved it! He never slowed down and just loved the scenery. I'll have to do that for him more often.

Okay - time to finish getting ready. Happy Monday! Later!
