It's Starting

So each week, the district puts out a chart of the number of students and staff with Covid and/or quarantined. Last week, there were zero members of the staff who had Covid AND were quarantined. Zero. In terms of students, there were 14 kids with Covid (throughout all the schools) and 129 quarantined. Yesterday alone, talking to our nurse, there were 10 kids in two elementary schools with Covid, 2 in the JH and 4 at the high school (not sure of the other two elementary schools). That's just those who tested positive...who knows how many are now quarantined. It's a shit show! A local district (basically next door to mine) has shut down until after the Labor Day weekend. I think on the news I heard they have nearly 500 kids suffering the affects (either with Covid or quarantined). Ugh! I think we can say that this is going to be us in the next day or two. I'll be interested to see what my district does. Talking to our school nurse, she is running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Yesterday when I talked to her in the late morning, she hadn't even been able to contact trace because she was dealing with phone calls - either sending home sick kids or fielding calls about positive cases. Needless to say, it's going to be a long couple of weeks. Ugh!

In other news, the cooler weather is on the way and it can't come soon enough. This humidity is for the birds! It's so sticky and soupy and gross. At least my room at school is comfortable though. It could be worse...I could be in a school without AC.

Dinner tonight: I'll probably grill some chicken with some green beans and potatoes...something like that.

Got up again at 4:00 to do a bit of ellipticalling. I know it's crazy but it really gets me going for school and leaves my evening a little more open. Plus I finally slept like a baby last night so am feeling really good today. Hopefully I won't hit a wall. Tomorrow I'll sleep until 5:00 and give myself a break.

Jim has a list of jobs that barely got touched yesterday. He did make phone calls for doc appointments, went to the store and after I bitched at him a bit, he vacuumed downstairs. I told him that the next week wasn't going to go well for our marriage if he didn't step it up a bit. I know he's still recovering but he needs to step it up a bit.

Ooh, maybe it'll be a nice weekend...my neighbor up the road with the pool is going out of town and asked us to empty her filter allowing us to use her pool while she's away. Sure would be nice to lay in the sun on Saturday. There probably aren't many more of those days left this summer. Fingers crossed.

Okay well, that's all I've got. Time to get a move on, kiss my boys a little before heading out. Happy Tuesday!
