Staple Remover

I'm a little later than usual in my post because I took the day off to go with Jim to the doctor for his follow-up visit. He'll get his staples removed today and the doc will check his progress. I think he's doing great. Everyday he's able to do a little more and he hasn't had to take any pain meds in a few days. He's getting around well and his appetite gets better and better with each meal. I can't wait until he's off the low fiber diet, however, because there aren't a lot of options for veggies other than green beans and I'm betting he's going to get sick of those with every meal. He's not complaining yet though. 

The weekend was good...pretty low key. We mostly just hung around here all weekend and chilled with the neighbors. Yesterday Jim and I went to Shooters for a couple beers and while there, my neighbor Jane asked if I wanted to come hang at her pool so I did. (She invited Jim too but he can't get in the pool while he's got staples.) It was nice especially with how hot it was. I was there for a few hours and then came home an we played a couple games of Euchre with Doug and Lauren. We ended up getting pizza for dinner (I had a salad too) and then I took a lovely bath before heading to bed. 

I got up early today (5:30) and had had breakfast and got on the elliptical. Jim's appointment is at 9:10 and after that, I think we'll go to the Party Source to stock up on some wine and booze. After that, we'll probably come home and try to stay cool. This week is going to be awful in terms of heat and humidity and it makes me really excited for fall. It can't come soon enough.
