Sigh Of Relief

I feel like I can breathe again! Yesterday was such an inspiring day and it was timed perfectly for me. When the kids went off to lunch after 5th period, I live streamed NBC and made it just in time to watch Lady Gaga sing the anthem then Kamala took the oath, then Biden and then, bonus, I got to hear his speech. If you didn't watch it, I recommend you do. It was what the nation needed to hear: A call for unity, a recognition of the differences out there and the need to compromise and the shared dream of us all that we get through this pandemic stronger than when it started. Sigh...

In school news, I have a meeting today with our financial guy at school which we have every year. I don't plan on making any changes but there are some things I have questions about (hospital indemnity insurance for example)...should only take about 20 minutes, tops. Other than that, same old, same old: Reading TKM, kids in history are finishing up their president project and in science I'm trying to teach these kids how to solve distance/time/speed/acceleration problems. It's the bane of my existence right now. Why is it so hard to plug numbers into a small little formula and then punch them correctly into the calculator?! By the end of yesterday, I had the biggest headache. Ugh.

My dinner last night was delicious! Butternut squash and black bean Mexican skillet. So good! Not sure what I'll do tonight. Jim's going to be home for dinner most likely but I don't have anything on the menu. I'll probably stop at the store on the way home and get something. Maybe crab cakes.

And that's all I've got. Time to get ready for work. Happy Thursday! Stay happy, healthy, masked and stay far away from these kids that seem to be dropping like flies at work (a case a day at work at least). K - later!
