Yesterday was a rough day. Not sure if I mentioned this or not but Monday, Jim's "gut" was giving him fits. This periodically happens with him and who knows why. However, yesterday morning after I got off the elliptical, he was rooting around the house looking for the thermometer (that's a whole separate saga which I'll tell you about later). We didn't find it, by the way, but Jim got dressed to head down to the job he'd been working on. As I sat there in front of the computer waiting for 2nd bell to start, I thought, Jim needs to get tested. I mean, his gut and his fever...not good signs. So I called him, and said, "What are you doing?" He had just bought the thermometer and said his temp was 101. Ugh! So I said, "What's your plan?" He said he was going to power through and was heading down to his job site. I told him I didn't think that was a good idea...he needed to get tested. So, he called his doc (of course couldn't get through), went to his job site, picked up his materials and headed home.
Eventually, he got a hold of the nurse practitioner and she put an order in for a test. Thankfully, he didn't have to wait for an appointment and she said the results would be in by the end of the day. (Bonus too: he was getting the PCR test which is considered the "gold standard"). He immediately went down to KY to get tested (and have his blood drawn to check his levels).
While Jim was gone, I disinfected the whole house and fixed up the room he'd be isolating in. When he got home, he immediately went to his new room and went to sleep.
Fast forward to 6:00, 7:00...still hadn't heard anything. I served Jim his dinner in bed (he barely ate) and then went back downstairs to check Jim's Mychart. Around 7:15 I saw that the results came in and it stated that Covid-19 was "not detected". PHEW! My worst nightmare averted. Well, not my worst nightmare but so very relieved!
This morning, Jim certainly seems better. His fever broke. We'll see how today goes. He plans on going to work but it's work that needs to be done 2nd shift so he'll at least be able to rest for a while.
Great - "Devil Went Down to Georgia" was just playing on MSNBC and now I'll be singing that for the rest of the day. Oh well, at least I know all the words and like the song.
Mitch McConnell must be shitting his pants right now. That's all I'll say.
Okay - need to get going. I've eaten breakfast and am now going to jump on the elliptical before school starts. I was supposed to have a doctor's appointment later today but with Jim possibly having Covid, I cancelled the appointment (at the time I didn't think we'd know before today what his results would be and I didn't want to chance infecting anyone). Oh well. Happy Wednesday...we're halfway through. Stay safe! Later!
