I finally slept through the night! I woke up for a second when Jim came to bed and it crossed my mind for a split second that I wasn't going to be able to go back to sleep but I did. Then I woke up for a second from a dream but rolled over and was snoozing before I knew it. When the alarm went off at 4:50, I popped out of bed and now feel really good. I mentioned in previous posts that I've tried melatonin a couple of nights recently but when that didn't work, I popped a couple Advil PMs last night. That did the trick. Hopefully this will be my new norm (not the Advil PM but sleeping through the night. I don't like to take things to sleep normally.
So yesterday was fine. The kids I didn't think would show up for class didn't and there were a couple that didn't make it that should have. One of my kids emailed me in the morning and she had been marked absent which means she didn't Zoom with her 1st period. I responded and said, "Have you not shown for you classes? You're marked absent." Her response: Her Chromebook wasn't charged. WTF!? You know school was starting back up yesterday! Why would you not charge your computer!? Sounds like a load of bullshit to me. Although, I certainly believe that this is more than the norm than you'd think with these kids.
Luna's kid actually showed up for class. We'll see how things go once school starts back up in person. I've got an aide in my class now for my protection. Still pisses me off that he's even in my class but there's nothing I can do about my administration effing me.
Have you ever seen Ted 2? (It's the Seth MacFarlane movie with the Teddy bear.) Jim and I were watching it at breakfast one day last week and they were talking about authors and one of the characters mentioned liking F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ted and his "owner" were all, "Why would someone name their kid Fuck Scott Fitzgerald?" Jim and I couldn't stop laughing.
Can I tell you that I hate this phrase? "I'm not going to lie..." I also don't like, "Can I tell you..." And also, "Can I ask a question?" You just did. I guess that's your quota for the day.
Okay - my plan is to elliptical before school starts (at 7:15) so I'd better get a move on. Happy Tuesday! Stay healthy and away from other morons. Later!
