On The Mend

So, of course Jim didn't listen to his wife and go get an X-ray but his arm is feeling better and he's headed back to work today. It's a work in progress and he's still having trouble grasping things but he's not moaning and groaning like he was (maybe because I yelled at him to stop since he wasn't going to listen to me and get the damn X-ray). I'll chalk this up to Jim getting old and not bouncing like he used to. Lesson learned to be more careful.

In school news, I have a 7AM meeting to discuss Greg. The admin in charge of him emailed several "team members" yesterday including me, his Bio teacher, guidance counselor (who is also the head football coach) and our special ed coordinator (FW) because he doesn't know what to do. I've got a lot of suggestions which include following the handbook and protocol. I've complied a spreadsheet of all his 24 referrals from the year as well as some statistics and notes and 10 pages later... I've said I'm going to go into the meeting trying to be calm, cool and collected but also politely blunt. I know many/most/all of you are probably saying, "Not possible Muir" but that's my goal. The way things are going now, no one is being served well and in fact, harm is being done. I mean, think about this: He's had 24 referrals which range from being tardy to class (that one was me...I don't put up with anything!) to bullying to profanity, to disrespect to disruption and fighting. Yet he's only had 3 days out for the fighting and 1 documented day of in-school suspension. They didn't even document these last two days. No Friday night school, nothing. It's a bunch of horseshit! And that's what I'll say. If you don't know where to go with him, lets start by giving him consequences. And allowing him a phone while he's got ISS isn't a punishment. It's a reward.

Okay, done talking about that. And now I have nothing else.

Dinner: I think I'll do some pork chops (the best damn pork chops according to the name of the recipe) in the air fryer. I'll steam up some broccoli and then serve rice with it. Sound easy.

And that's about all I've got. I guess I'd better get a move on because I've got a meeting in an hour and need to make sure I have a cup of joe before hand. Happy Thursday! (Oooh, tomorrow is Friday!). Later!
