Hello 80s!

Today it's going to get into the 80s and I'm happy about this because I'm sick of my cold clothes but I don't have my tan on yet so walking around in shorts or skirts is a bit blinding. I did manage to work on my color a bit yesterday, however. I took a lovely bike ride and even laid out for a bit. Gotta start on my base so I don't burn. My face certainly has more color than my legs and arms but I would imagine over the next couple days, I'll fix that a bit.

Saturday, I went to Anne's yoga class for one of her final hurdles in getting certified to teach. It was an hour class and it was hot yoga. I mean HOT!!! Hot yoga is normally around 90 degrees but it was hotter in the studio because the class before was a 101 class (as in 101 degrees) and they'd just replaced their HVAC system and it was pumping.

I'll start by saying Anne did great. I'm sure she was nervous but you would have never known. Her portion of the class (the wind down) was soothing and very smooth. I was nervous...not for her, but because I know me and I know how much I sweat and I was a bit worried if I'd be able to get through the class. You will be happy to read that I did make it through and was pretty proud that I didn't faint or throw up. I had no issue knowing the poses and I think I only had to take a child's pose for a bit of a rest one time. I did sweat buckets, however. My towel was soaking wet by the end. When I got home, I'd put my clothes on my bathroom stool while I showered and when I got out, there was a puddle on the floor from where the clothes had dripped. I probably lost 5 pounds in water weight. It was crazy. The other crazy thing was how sore I was the next day (a good sore though). I mean, I do yoga at least 4 times a week and I exercise a lot but I guess an hour long power flow is a lot different.

Sunday, Jim and I got up, I made a big old breakfast, we walked the boys and then we headed to Shooters for our weekly jaunt. Unfortunately, they were closed. Seems they had some issues with their septic system and had to shut down Saturday and Sunday to fix it. That sucked but I wasn't really that mad. It meant that I could take a bike ride and soak up some vitamin D. Jim mowed the back yard which really wore him out. He had to take a rest about 3 times. Now, that's understandable considering we're not quite 6 months out from his open heart surgery but it also tells me that he has some work to do. He needs to build up his strength and I feel like he's not doing that. He and I will have a little talk this week about getting him in better shape.

We've got a weird week at school. Wednesday and Thursday are state testing so I won't have any classes to teach. I'm only administering test in the AM on both days. It'll be nice to have my afternoons free.

Safe travels to Anne and Steve! They head to Italy today. Have a great time!!!

Okay, time to get a move on. Happy Monday! Here's hoping the week flies by! Later!
