Another Week Down

Although it was a 3-day week for me I'll give myself props for getting through it. Obviously it was a fairly easy week and today will be the easiest. I'll be finishing up a short story with my ELA kids and then my Government kids will watch a video. They just finished a pretty big research project so they deserve a minute to breathe.

I've slept these last three nights like a little baby. Of course I wake up here and there (to pee or roll over) but always manage to get back to sleep and I've been awoken by my alarm each morning. Not drinking during the week (well, these past few days) really makes sleep come easier.

Dinner tonight: Sausage patties with fries and probably green beans. (BTW - I'll be making a ham ad swiss quiche on Saturday. I have leftover ham from Easter that I froze and I need to do something with it. I'll serve it with a salad. I loves me a quiche!)

The weekend: The only real plan I have is to go to a yoga class that Anne is teaching tomorrow morning at 9:30. I'm a little "worried" about it because it's going to be hot yoga and Muwee sweats like a pig. Hot yoga for me is tough because I tend to slide all over my mat. All that said, I'll do my best and bring a very absorbent towel. Jim is working tomorrow so after yoga, I'll come home, shower and then possibly head to Half Price to see if they have a copy of Rear Window. Maybe I'll call them first...that would make more sense, huh? Nothing else is planned for the weekend.

Oh, speaking of Jim, did I mention that his NCAA bracket got second place? I didn't think he was going to get any money but he won $50! When I texted him yesterday to tell him, he replied with, "BEERS!" Then he replied again and said, "Better yet, buy yourself something pretty!" Ha! Beers sound pretty pretty to me!

I've re-started watching Couples Therapy yesterday (on Showtime but you can also watch it on Paramount). It's exactly what it sounds like: A New York therapist who specializes in couples therapy. I'd watched season 1 a couple months ago then got caught up in something else. I returned to it yesterday. Why do I like it? Watching couple struggle and sometimes argue? A) It makes me think that my train of thought and marriage aren't' too bad and B) it often shows me a different way to think about things. The most interesting comment that the therapist has said is that couples often come in trying to figure out a way to change their partner, believing they are the problem. Usually, (always) however, it's them that needs to change or find a new way to think and process issues. How we communicate and the baggage we carry ourselves is usually what we project on our partners which causes strife.

Oh, podcast to listen to: The Consult and specifically the latest episodes on the murder of Robert Wone (pronounced like Juan). So good and upsetting and frustrating. BTW - The Consult is a podcast whose hosts are former FBI agents - profilers - who go through past cases. Most of them are 1-2 episodes. This one (the Robert Wone one) is going to be many. So far there are 2, released each Wednesday Listen...it's really good.

Okay. I've rambled on enough. Time to get a move on so I can get this day done! Happy Friday! Happy weekend! Later!
