Happy Birthday Dad!!!

This is from Kristyn's wedding weekend.
Today is Dad's 87th birthday and while I won't see him today, I'll be thinking about him and I'll call him later when I get home from work. Actually, I did get to see him today. See, his picture is in the room where I do yoga. In fact, whenever I do standing poses, his picture is my focal point. Appropriately, he helps be to keep my balance. Every morning, when I do a standing pose or a sun salutation, I say, "Morning dad. Love you!" Anyway, Saturday Jim and I plan on taking him and Becky lunch and hanging out for a bit. Until then, however, I hope you have a great day today and that it's full of peace and relaxation.

My day did NOT start in a relaxing way. Guess why! If you said, "The boys!" you would be correct. At just before 4 AM, they both went ape shit and ran barking downstairs to the sliding class door. Apparently there was some varmint (or a leaf or just a droplet of rain) that got their attention and they thought that if they acted like complete maniacs at 4:00 AM, barking and growling, I'd get up before my alarm and let them out to then lose their minds in the backyard. They were wrong. I laid in bed and tried to ignore them. Eventually they gave up and came upstairs to run around on the bed trying to get us out while we both laid there, covers up over our heads and saying, "UH UH!!! NO!"

When we finally did get up, (Jim got up with me to help me since it was inevitable they'd go tearing into the backyard screaming and barking), I opened the sliding glass door and saw, thank the baby Jesus, it was pouring down rain. This always deflates their maniacal balloons and they were in and out as quickly as possible while still doing their business. Let's all say it together: TURKEYS!

Today is the first of two state testing days. I have a group of 12 kids who get accommodations taking their ELA part 1 test in the morning. I'll have the same kids tomorrow when they'll take part 2. I'll be done with my part today and tomorrow by 10:00. Woot. Lisa is monitoring in our room in the afternoon but that's fine...I'll be at my desk working. Should be a good couple days.

Dinner tonight: I'll make that Pasta a la Betsey tonight. It's yummy and easy.

Nothing else is happening here. It's raining pretty hard and steadily so I think I'll take the back roads to school. Which means, I'd best mosey along. Happy Wednesday! Later!
