Credit Card Woes

Did I mention in my last post that someone stole my credit card? Not my actual card but the numbers. I'm not sure how this happened and how they managed to charge the things they did without the physical card. The charges were: 4 or 5 Uber charges; a Longhorn Steakhouse charge for $133 and a Marriot charge for just over $600. I woke up Monday with a text and email from my bank alerting me. Once I looked at my account and saw all this, I called and it's all under investigation. In the meantime, my credit card has been cancelled and it's going to be 5-7 business days until I get a new one. I still have my debit card, however.  The investigation could take up to 60 days. So annoying. Oh and all the charges were in Cincinnati. This tells me that someone at the LaRosa's I ordered from on Friday night snagged my numbers. I don't think I'll be ordering from the Goshen LaRoas's anymore. Jackholes.

Dinner tonight: I'll do a chicken dish I think, probably buffalo chicken with some rice and broccoli. I have to go to the store after school which annoys me but it's so rainy and going to be pretty nasty when I get home, I'm not sure the boys will get their walks. Hate that for them. And believe me, when they don't get their walks, they are extra squirrely.

Eva had her 2nd softball game yesterday and had a good game. (The first one didn't go so well.) Maggie called me (she'd gone home to make dinner) and at the time it was 10-0. Woot woot!

Did I mention I'm doing a Short Story unit with my kids in ELA? I've chosen several stories but one in particular I'm very excited for: "It Had to Be Murder" by Cornell Woolrich. This is the story that Rear Window is based on. I've started making the questions to go along with it and so far it's really good. Some of the differences are: The watched apartments by Jeff are fewer in number; his "nurse" is a man named Sam and it's not clear why he's immobilized but he's in a wheelchair. So far that's about all that's different. I'll hopefully finish it today. One problem: I used to own the movie but realized after I couldn't find it in my stash of DVDs that the one I had was VHS. Ugh! I searched online for where I can stream and it's nowhere. I'll try to find a copy this weekend at Half Price Books. Fingers crossed because I really want my kids to watch this.

Okay that's about all I've got. Time to finish my toilette. Rain, rain, rain is expected today and I'm hoping that the sun doesn't peek through too much. Otherwise it could ramp up the atmosphere and cause thunderstorms to develop. Fingers crossed we're spared.

Happy Thursday! Man this week has flown. Later!
