Monday Energy

I don't know what was with me yesterday but I got some shit DONE after school yesterday! First, I came in and loved on my pups. That in itself is all that really needed to be done but I powered through to do more. Then, I took out the rotisserie chicken JIm bought me Sunday and I de-meated it so that I could make some chicken broth (which I did in the Instant Pot). From there I made the soup we had for dinner last night (it was amazing...pinned...Black bean and lentil soup - 2 points. I actually added some of my chicken to the soup otherwise, it's a vegetarian recipe) and then I used the chicken to make a yummy chicken salad (if I do say so myself). At that point, Jim was home so I headed upstairs and got on the elliptical machine (more on that in a minute). From there, I came down, loved on the boys some more and then got my lunch ready for today. And then it was time to eat dinner. Finally, I hunkered down - FINALLY - to drink my tea and watch Lester and after, Pat. I highly doubt I'll have that much energy when I get home today but I'll certainly exercise and make dinner.

My elliptical: If you exercise, you know that you fall into slumps. For the past several months it's been a three-day cycle of yoga - core work/arm work - recumbent bike. Well, my ass has been having a hard time lately with the bike (I should just wear my padded shorts) so I decided to take up the elliptical again. Well, I'm back to loving that machine again. And bonus, I could go forever on it. Not to toot my own horn but it used to be that 30 minutes was my threshold before I keeled over. Now, I can go 45 minutes (and more if it weren't for my feet...my feet go numb whenever I do long periods of anything). I also enjoy losing track of time while on it, watching whatever movie or show I've chosen (the latest is Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society). The other good thing is that I'm able to do the whole 45 minutes on a high resistance setting! Before, my 30 minute "ride" started high but I could only last for a few minutes before I would have to slowly reduce.

Bad News: Jim's back on 2nd shift on Wednesday/Thursday. Bummer. But the pups are excited. They think this all-day-in-the-cage thing blows!

My meeting yesterday was annoying. As expected, my admin has lost his damn mind. He started spouting off about his new found happiness and outlook on life. He's apparently started doing yoga and now wants to meet with each and every one of us to get to know us...or hear our concerns or whatever. Oh, and it's up to us to make the appointment and guess who is not going to do that?  Dude - you don't need to be friends with all of us. And I know I sound like a cynical ass but just let me do my job! I don't have time to sit down with you because you read one too many books and feel like you've done an inadequate job these last 5 years. Just leave me be and let me work on a lesson plan, or an IEP or the stupid evaluation that's coming up. Because otherwise, I have to take time out of MY busy day to sit with you and, what, stroke your ego?! Nope...put Muir down for a NO!

And on that rude, cynical, negative Nancy note - I'll close. It's freakin' freezing out there so I need to dry my hair and head out. Later...happy Tuesday!
