Clean Dishes

Here in the Hanke household, we've needed a new dishwasher badly! Basically the dishwasher we've been working with hasn't been working. It stopped drying and was sporadic in its ability to get off even the tiniest mess. So yesterday I made the executive decision to replace it. We headed to Lowes, hemmed and hawed for about 1/2 hour and finally chose the one seen here. It's a Bosch and was very reasonably priced. It wasn't the cheapest and wasn't the most expensive and it was on sale. Jim and I installed yesterday afternoon and it only took us 2 1/2 hours. Only...ha! It should have only take about an hour but there were some snafus that got us caught up. I only had to yell at Jim once. He, however, yelled at me once and the dishwasher about 10 times. I haven't run a load yet but I can't wait.

The weekend was good. We went out and about on Saturday to a local brewery and lunch then to dinner with the neighbors at Asian Paradise. After dinner we headed to Kroger for a last beer (they have a great bar and only charge $5 for a flight of beers) where Muir drank too much. Oh well, how often do I do that anymore?

The week, I fear, is going to creep by since on the other side is spring break. I have a 7:00 AM staff meeting today and then a 9:30 meeting with the mother and grandmother of the new kid on my caseload. That's a whole shit show that went down on Friday. So stupid and all FWs fault. There were concerns voiced by one of the teachers who has this kid (he talks about guns a lot and tells inappropriate stories that are most likely lies). The teacher just wanted to let someone know and see what the rest of us were seeing. Well, FW decides I need to call a meeting with the whole team. My thoughts on this were it wasn't necessary. We could wait for the IEP meeting to discuss if these behaviors continued (I mean the kid hasn't had a normal week yet and he's still getting acclimated) not to mention if I suddenly call a meeting, the parents are going to be thrown for a loop since I'd previously been emailing that things were going well. And of course that's exactly what happened but thankfully they called FW freaking out instead of me so now she's running the meeting. Kid also lied about me to his mother and grandmother which I will be disputing. On a survey for me, he listed his desired career to be "gunsmith". I had nothing to say about it and in fact just listed it in his IEP but he told his mother and gma that I questioned him about it. Nope...didn't happen. I already knew this about the kid going in so I wasn't surprised. Whatever.

Other than that, however, the week should be fine. I just need it to go quickly. So with that - I'll get a move on. Don't want to be late for the stupid meeting we have. Later.
