Mmmmm...Summer!!!

Today was - I think - my first real day of summer. I don't count last week because I had too much crap going on and today was my first real day spent at the pool (aside from yesterday but that was a Sunday and doesn't count). Susan and I met for breakfast in Covington after my doctor's appointment and then we both drove over to Raeburn to soak in some rays and hang with J.J. He's a very sweet boy and seems to enjoy lounging by the pool. He's getting the role of "pool boy" down pretty quickly. He'll be swimming like a pro any day now. Of course he has yet to get in the water but it's only a matter of time.

Can I tell you that I think the cicadas are having a funny effect on Bubba!? He'll be in a dead sleep, or sitting there peacefully when suddenly, he gets a crazy hair up his butt (or a cicada tickles the inside of his belly) and he darts up and runs at breakneck speed into some other part of the house. He's nuts. And fat. And hot. I should turn on the AC...it's supposed to get up to 90 on Wednesday! Yuck!

Okay - I best get supper started. Today is a teriyaki/ginger/sesame noodle dish doctored with some chicken, broccoli and water chestnuts. Delicious. It's actually one of those Simply Asian packages that I jazz up. It's pretty light and definitely easy. After a day at the pool, you know I'm exhausted. YAWWWWNNNNN....

K - Later.

I am so out of the practice of reading your blog I just started reading newest to oldest. One thing did catch my eye, Bubba and breakneck speed, I am pretty sure and when I say pretty sure I mean 100% sure Bubba is not going break neck speed.

You'd be surprised how fast that boy can move his big butt when he has a feather up it! He isn't going to break any records but he's lickity split fast!
