Bad Ideas

So today is kind of a nasty, muggy, threat-of-thunderstorm kind of day. That being said, I had planned on hanging out at home and possibly doing some work for my social studies class next year (the special ed class, not the co-teaching world history). Prior to beginning, however, I checked my school email.

So let me backtrack a bit here. For next year, I have been assigned to co-teach in a World Studies class. They have totally restructured the class to make it a "seminar" type thing. The idea is that about 3 days a week, the world studies classes involved (two teachers) will combine in the auditorium to deliver a lecture (about 60 kids). Then, the other 2 days, the classes will split up and have a more focused "teaching" time. Now, I don't know what the reasoning for this is and I find it a terrible idea. I mean, who ever thought that bigger classes were better? Um, are we a college or university? What is the point of all this? But, I say nothing and just "go with the flow" (and silently wait for it all to go down the toilet).

So, last week I had emailed the two teachers I would be co-teaching with, just to see what they knew about next year and if they had anything they were thinking about (structure wise) and finally, to ensure them that I was up for anything and whatever role I played would be fine etc. An email to hopefully alleviate any fears or trepidations that they may have had. So I get an email back from the male teacher. He states that he doesn't know what is going to go on for next year. The proposal he and the other teacher put together is not what seems to be in the works (as per the administrations agenda). He also stated that he and the other teacher were supposed to have a room switch into two classrooms that have a removable wall to allow joining the classes together for lecture, however, this is not going to happen. This means that the auditorium would be needed 3 days per week and the administration can't guarantee that they could do this. In essence, the email said that he didn't have much hope of this seminar thing for next year being beneficial for anyone and basically it's going to be a nightmare.

Super! Cause this was something I was so looking forward to anyway and now, well, I'm ecstatic! What a good idea! Lets put three teachers together, teaching basically a brand new class where no one knows what they f^%k their doing. In addition, lets make it a co-taught class and cram a bunch of special ed kids in there who won't benefit one iota. Oooh, and hey, lets promise the teachers that we'll get some training for them and then renege on that, leaving them high and dry! Now, is this a freakin phenomenal administration or what? Man!!! Talk about a man who fails at everything he does! My principal SUCKS!!!

But whatever, it's all good. I'll just do my job and do what everyone tells me to do and smile like I mean it and then laugh when there are 101 complaints from parents! I'll be directing all those calls to HH (head honcho). Jackass!

Anyway, my point for this whole story is that I now have no desire to even think about school and so will now be going up to soak in a tub full of hot water and bubbles. I will then head to the grocery for some things I forgot on Saturday and then I will be coming back home to chill with my pups. So that's that! Excitement that you all wish you had in your lives, I know.
