The Case Of The Missing Banana

So every evening, I prep the kitchen for my morning routine: I fill the Ninja coffee maker, I put both my mug and Jim's out; I pull out the blender for my smoothie along with the cups for travel and an extra banana; dog bowls and a spoon are laid; my vitamins and a cup to mix my fiber and proteins. Today, when I finished my yoga and went to put the goods in the blender (so the frozen bag can thaw a bit until I mix after my shower), I realized, "Huh, I forgot to put out my extra banana." So I went in the pantry and, "Huh, no banana there." Where the fuck is my banana. I looked high and low and can't find it. Which means, I must not have had an final banana for the week. Or, it's somewhere in the house and in about a week we're going to smell a very ripe banana.

I am so proud of myself. Yesterday, I got so much of my stuff done in preparation for heading north tomorrow. I left school a little early and came home and thought I think I'll cut the back yard. So I did and then I thought, I still have energy...maybe I'll cut half the front or at least until I run out of gas. Guess what? I didn't run out of gas and managed to cut the whole thing. I then walked Scout (ran out of gas a bit on his 2 miler but managed to finish...of course the alternative would have been to just sit there and hope someone picked me up and took me home.), put laundry away and started putting things in bags to pack the car. Oh, and I went to Costco after the exams were done at school. Bam!

Today all I have to do is go to school and check out. We're going to have a little presentation for our retirees (there are three) and then I'll be out of there. I'll head to Aldi straight away, then the bank and Kroger where I'll get alcohol and gas up. After that I'll only have to clean the house and pack. BAM!!! I'm hoping to have all that done by noon.

It's going to be a really rainy day and I'm hoping my drive tomorrow won't be awful. I don't have high hopes for that. Maggie and Charlie aren't sure about getting to the island today. Billy Market put something out there yesterday about possible delays or cancellations due to wind. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit calmer. We'll get there eventually.

BTW - I will take my computer with me so I will post, hopefully as usual but probably later than typical. We're now on summer hours so you can expect posting between 7:00 and 8:00.

Well, I'd best go finish getting ready. I'm so happy that I got through this year mostly unscathed. It was a pretty typical year with no awful things happening. Hopefully next year will be better since we'll have an actual leader in place. Happy Friday! Happy Memorial Day Weekend and Happy Summer. Later!
