Late Start

Today's exams start with my plan period so I'm just taking my time getting ready since I don't have anything to rush to school for. I'll probably still get there on time but I'm not worried about it. Plus Jim left extra early so I want to give time to the dogs. 

The 2nd exam period is my 6th bell ELA and this will round out testing for my classes. Woot! Oh, get this, I wake up this morning to this email from one of my kids in 6th period: 

hi how your day going, I don’t think i’m be at school tomorrow because i have to go out town for a family emergency but idk yet i just wanna to give u a heads up but thank u for your time and have a good summer 

As you can read, this chick is not the brightest bulb in the box. She's also had 23 full day absences this year along with 17 unexcused partial days. Needless to say, I'm not just going to let this pass. I emailed her back, adding her mother to the thread along with her IS and said, "I'm so sorry about your "possible" family emergency. Unfortunately, if you don't show up for your exam, this may determine whether you pass for the semester or not." Truthfully, she'll still pass for the semester even getting a 0% on the exam but where she had a B all semester, it will drop her grade to a D. I'm sure she doesn't give a shit but she should have all the info, right? And the fact that she emailed this to me seems so shady. I'll be interested to see if her mother knows about this "emergency". 

Last night Jim and I went to a local brewery in support of Lauren's and her sister's foundation. It was fun. The food truck which served our dinner was fine. However, when they brought me my food, they didn't serve with any napkins. So I hauled myself up to go back to the truck and ask for napkins and I'm told they're inside by the bar. I walk in and see no napkins. Then I spy a 1 napkin dispenser and I grab it and take it to my table. Apparently, this is the ONLY napkin dispenser that the food truck provided for the whole kit and caboodle. One of the brewery workers came over to grab it back, since it was the only one (I didn't know that when I grabbed it) and laughed with me that the people in the truck thought that would be enough. Dummies. 

Anyway, we were home around 7:30 and I went upstairs to lay in bed and watch an episode of Couples Therapy. I love that show.  

Jim's going to work late at Chris's tonight. Actually, he has to come home between work and that because we have a company coming to look at part of our roof/eave that needs repair. They're window for the estimate is 2-4 so Jim needs to handle that since I'll still be at school. All of this to say that I won't be cooking tonight. 

It's a gloomy day here with lots of rain expected. I'm not mad about it though because it's cooling things down and my house is hot! Although, this rain means that I can't mow today and my lawn needs it. Hopefully I'll be able to get at least the back yard tomorrow. We'll see. Friday I'm going to have so much shit to do. Ugh! 

I'm still coughing up all kinds of shit in my lungs. It's so annoying. I ended up taking more Mucinex this morning hoping that loosens things up even more.
