Heaven Must Be Bumpin' Right Now!

I love this pic of JJ and Aunt K.
R.I.P. Aunt Kathleen. I woke up to several texts from my cousins to let me know that my Aunt Kathleen had passed yesterday evening. She'd been suffering from cancer for quite a while and had been in hospice and home these last couple of weeks. I'm glad to know that she's out of pain but sad for my Aunt Muir who is the last of that generation's Arbaugh kids. That must be so hard for her. However, I'm sure that right now, the wine is flowing in heaven with Dad, Kathleen, Mike, Mary Beth and so many others reuniting.

Throughout my life and especially my younger years, my Dad always called me (accidentally) Kathleen. Apparently, I reminded him of her and look like her (I don't see it). I think the "youngest" label (although she wasn't technically the youngest since there was David, who died at 3) which we both shared had a lot to do with it. Those personality traits that the youngest often have were pretty prevalent in the two of us. As I got older, I think I moved farther away from being so like her, however. She was much more adventurous than I and seemed a lot more carefree. She took from life everything she could and didn't let anything get in the way of that. She loved her goldens, she loved PIB and I'm guessing right now, she's surrounded by all her pups that passed over the rainbow bridge, and settled over the Bay getting ready to watch the sun come up. Godspeed Kathleen, give Dad a hug and kiss for me.

Bad news and good news: When I left yesterday to go to school, I went in the freezer to pull something for dinner and realized - FUCK!!! - the freezer wasn't working. For the past week or so, it had been loud all of a sudden. I unplugged if for several minutes, plugged it back in and the noise stopped. Since nothing was completely thawed, I decided to see what happened while I was at school. When I got home, it was still busted. For the next 1/2 hour, I cleaned the stupid thing out and transferred as much as I could into my other freezers. After throwing a bunch of shit that needed throwing out away, I really didn't lose anything.

I then called Jim and told him to call a repair person. He got home and said he'd left several messages with some people and would try to get someone out Monday (since I'm off). He then went into the garage and kicked and rattled the thing (I thought something catastrophic was happening in the garage) trying, I supposed to force it back into working order. Guess what? That worked. It started pumping out the frigid air again and this morning the items I put in to test it out (a bag of ice, some ice packs and loaves of bread) are hard as rocks. Woot! I mean, that fucker is about a year and 2 months old! I'm not lulled into thinking this is going to last, I'll keep my eye on it but for now, at least I don't have to buy another fucking freezer!

In case you didn't know: IT'S FRIDAY!!! And I have a 3-day weekend! I took Monday off because I'm getting fit for my new tooth! I'm guessing they'll fit me and then once it's made in a couple weeks, I'll go back in and get it implanted! This was supposed to happen this last Monday but the appointment had to change for some reason due to a snafu in my docs schedule. It's fine but I'm really excited to have a tooth again!

Today will be an easy day at school. ELA kids are taking their Othello test and my history kids get a movie.

Dinner tonight: I pulled a soup (chili) and will make that with some grilled cheese. Yummy.

K - running really late. Gotta go. Later!
