Return To Normal

"Normal" won't really start until next Monday when (hopefully) Jim will be back home and working in the tristate area.

I have a TON of shit to do at school in terms of grading and updating parents having been out both Friday and Monday but it will be good to be busy. With 1st and 2nd bell GI (Guided Intervention), I should have time to get some shit done. Other than that, the week should be easy. We're finishing up Romeo and Juliet this week with the test next week and then we'll watch the movie. That will be a nice reprieve. In history, we're chugging along and starting chapter 3 this week. No IEPs for the next couple weeks and the next one I have is pretty much written already.

Apparently some shit has hit the fan at school. Our study hall monitor has been suspended with pay until the end of the year. I don't understand that. That sounds like a whole lot waste. I mean, he'll still get paid and then we'll have to pay a sub? What do you have to do to get suspended for basically the whole school year WITH PAY!? I want to do that! One of my lunch ladies seems to know what happened but she's not saying much. I'm sure the rumors will be flying and the kids usually know the school. I'll ask one of my girls who has an in. Crazy though, right?

Yesterday was productive. I got the backyard mowed/mulched before the rain started. I was going to do the front but it wasn't that leafy and I just didn't feel like it. I did get lots of laundry done and made it to Kroger and Aldi. And of course I gave the boys nice, long walks. In addition, I made a freezer meal - eggplant gratin - because I had an eggplant I needed to use. All in all a productive day.

Speaking of rain, IT'S RAINING!!! I'm so happy. I even heard some rumbles of thunder. The boys' ears perked up when that happened which was funny. Also, when I got up this morning and let them out, they both didn't want to come in. I think they missed rain as much as I did.

Dinner tonight: Leftovers. Gotta get those eaten...don't want to waste.

This is funny: I just saw this Twitter. It's from Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura Ingalls. She retweeted it and said, "I don't know who did this but it's hilarious!" I want to respond and say, "I hate CARRIE!!!" Fucking hate Carrie.

Okay well, I think I'm going to take the back roads to school today because you know, having had no rain in the last month or two, the highway is going to be a cluster fuck of idiots. Plus I'm sure it's slick out there. It only takes a few minutes more to go the back roads and it's less of a headache in weather like this.

Happy Tuesday! Later!
