This drought we're in is just terrible. I was walking Scout yesterday and I don't think I've ever seen the grass in the neighborhood so crunchy and dead. Careful with a lit match.
Speaking of grass, I cut our after school yesterday. I didn't do ALL of the lawn because whatever part is in the direct sun isn't growing so I ended up just going over the longer, shaded areas. It was still a 2 mile job. While I was mowing the backyard I saw exactly where I need to put in a pool. The section directly to the side of the deck butting up against my neighbors to the right (looking at my house) would be a perfect location. Dream a little dream Muir.
Dinner tonight: I have grilled chicken on the menu with broccoli and a baked cannellini bean dish but I may switch that side for something easier. We'll see.
Today is the start of the NFL season, which means I'm wearing my Bengals gear to school. The game tonight will be Ravens v. Chiefs. Of course I won't be watching it because it's not on regular TV but more because it's on at 8:20 which is past my bedtime. I hope they both lose. But if I have to chose a team to win, I guess I have to root for the Chiefs since the Ravens are my 3rd most hated team and their in our division. I'm sick of the Chiefs though.
And that's all I've got. Jim's off early this morning because he has an appointment today at 3:30 with his therapist.
Oh, Dad's obituary should be out today. Becky did a REALLY great job with it. It's a lovely tribute to Dad.
K - I'm out. Happy Thursday! So happy for the weekend. Later!
