Jim is gonna get it if he doesn't shape up. His snoring these past two nights has been so ridiculous. And maybe it wouldn't be so bad but twice last night, he woke me up snoring directly in my ear. Argh! I've been making sure he really blows his nose well before coming to bed as well as using Flonase. Seems that isn't working. He told me just now that he's going to buy one of those mouth pieces to see if that helps. I think a punch in the kidneys is pretty effective too. By that point, however, I've been rudely awakened so maybe the mouth piece is the better idea.
I do believe we have a date for Dad's service: September 21st. It will be at Spring Grove with, I believe, a small service in their chapel after a reception/gathering. This is where Jim's brother's Rob service was and it is really lovely. I've been gathering photos and have really enjoyed looking again at all the pics of Dad through the years. So many to choose from. I'm putting them into a Drive file which I'll share with all so they can add if they want.
School is fine. I held it together for the most part except when I saw my lunch ladies in the morning. I got a hug and that started the waterworks. I pulled it together though. My principal texted me yesterday morning with condolences and telling me not to worry about school and just focus on family. I guess he didn't realize I was at work. It was nice of him and I thanked him and told him I just needed to get back to a little normalcy. Of course the kids asked me where I was and because I prefer honesty with them, I explained why I'd been out. They were all so sweet in their remarks which touched my heart.
Last night I made an amazing dinner (if I do say so myself): Teriyaki noodles. I added to it, of course (chicken, sugar snap peas and water chestnuts) and tweaked the recipe a bit based on the comments. Jim LOVED it and had two helpings (bad Jimmy!). It's one of those dishes where I'm guessing it's going to be even more delicious the next day and I can't wait to have it for lunch! My yard is such a mess! First because I haven't mowed it in forever. I mean, without rain it's hard. At this point though the front yard is out of control which means I'll have to mow it after school today. Jim has a lot to do as well because he's let the beds get out of control. We've had a lot going on but I think this weekend, we've got some jobs to do.
Dinner tonight: I'll make burrito bowls with the concoction I made the other day. With the yard work I have to do after school, I need something easy that I can throw together without much fuss.
Okay well, time to get to school. Happy Wednesday! Later!
