Just Call Me Rocky

Ugh...my poor eye. I woke up this morning again with it swollen and watery and I just look like shit! I'm not convinced at this point that my right eye doesn't have a touch of whatever is going on with the left. Thankfully it's not painful like it was on Saturday so maybe the drops are working but it's sure taking it's own sweet time to go back to normal. I ended up calling in sick with the hope of getting in to see my doctor but I have a feeling she's going to be all booked up. I guess I need to be patient and let the drops to their work but I seriously look awful. Not to mention that this eye thing makes it hard to read aloud to the kids which is what we're doing in ELA. Fingers crossed that another day of rest will put me over the hump toward recovery. 

The weekend was fine. Yesterday was fun. Jim and I hung out at home and played games all day. Rummikub, Skip-Bo, Farkle. Sadly Jim lost every game we played. It was funny...maybe not for Jim. I made a really good dinner last night: Coconut curry chicken with basil. It was really yummy and easy. 

Oh, speaking of dinner, get this: Saturday I made a stuffed pepper casserole. I put it in the over in a pyrex dish with the lid on and let it bake for about 30 minutes as the directions called. When I went to check on it, the glass lid that had been covering it had shattered. I had to toss the whole thing out. Pissed me off with the waste. And it was going to be a delicious meal. We ended up having to eat leftovers. It was a bummer. I've been striking out a lot in the kitchen lately. 

I'm not sure what I'm making for dinner tonight. I have to make my menu. I'll do that today. 

Did I mention that Jim is NOT headed back to work today? I can't remember...I think I did. Anyway, it's a slow time at the company and there isn't a job for Jim to go to. Pisses me off. Jim plans on piddling around here some more. He wants to paint the family room and kitchen and I guess I'll let him. I mean, what else is he going to do. 

Okay well that's all I've got. I'm going to brew another cup of coffee and sit on the couch and watch the news. I really hope my eye starts turning a corner. K - later!
