It's Going To Be A Chilly Walk

I have to say, I'm not looking forward to my walk with the pups this morning. It's currently 29 degrees and my hands are already ice cubes. Of course I have to wait for the sun to come up so maybe by then it'll be in the 30s. And, if I know my puppies, they're not going to be excited to leave their cozy beds. They're currently wrapped up in their fleece blankies dreaming of biscuits and ducks. 

I managed to sleep in until about 5:30 which was nice. I should clarify that. I woke up at 5:00 when Jim got out of bed but continued to lay there. Then Scout came up and laid against me while grooming himself, shaking me and generally being a turkey. I finally got out of bed when the alarm went off. 

Jim left around 6:30. I've done my elliptical and like I said, once the sun comes up a bit, I'll get the boys walked. In the meantime, I need to get Maggie's room ready and do a little laundry. Maggie should be here around 10:30. Once we get her settled, we'll head out to pick up lunch for us and dad and then head down to hang with him. 

When I called Dad yesterday to give him our timeline, I said, "Do you want us to pick up some lunch for you?" He said no. I said, "Well, we're going to probably pick something up for ourselves because I'm sure we'll be hungry." He asked what we would get and I told him we'd go anywhere he wanted. In the end, he asked for Izzy's so Izzy's it is! 

Maggie will spend the night here and head back tomorrow morning. I'm not sure what we'll do for dinner. I can either make shrimp tacos with a slaw and yellow rice or I have the makings for meatball subs. I'll leave it up to Mag. 

You know I'm not necessarily looking forward to the time change this weekend and it getting dark so early but I hate that it's so dark at 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning. It's annoying!

And that's about all I've got. I'd best get some shit done around here and then head out with the boys. Happy Thursday! Later!
