Getting My Hopes Up!

On Sundays my admin posts an "edict" which just talks about what's coming up that week. This morning, I woke up to this bullet point on it:

  • With the Girls Volleyball Team advancing to the OHSAA Final Four, there are discussions between administrators trying to figure out what to do about school on Friday for KHS.  We will make a decision tomorrow before the end of the school day!  So much to be thankful for!

I'm telling you, he better not put this out there and then tell me I'm going to have to go to school on Friday. Of course I was going to call in anyway but still! I haven't yet and if I don't have to take a sick day then HOT DOG!

The weekend was okay. Friday I had every intention of making it an early night because I'd gotten little sleep the night before. And then Doug and Lauren happened. It's hard to blame them though. It's so easy to talk me into pretty much anything. Oh well...we had fun playing cards and I didn't stay up too terribly late. Ten o'clock maybe?

Saturday Jim and I got up, did our normal (breakfast, dog walking, Jim did a little yard stuff) and then we headed down to see Dad. We stayed there a couple hours then went home to rest until we headed do Rodi in downtown Loveland for dinner. It was, as usual, amazing. We got home before 7:30 and just hung out watching Grey's Anatomy.

Sunday was a chore day after our usual (breakfast, dog walking, Shooters). Jim did more yard clean up while I mowed/mulched the backyard. I think there's at least one more mow for both the front and back but it all depends on the rain and wind we get this week. Fingers crossed.

Yesterday I also made some freezer lasagna roll-up meals in preparation for after Jim's surgery. My recipe made 5 but I only froze 4 so that we can have one of them this week. I also made a copycat Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana soup (made with potatoes, Italian sausage and kale) and froze most of that after we ate last night. I'm just trying to make things easier for when Jim's recovering.

I'm so stupid. So, I bought a digital clock for the family room after we went to Altafiber. When we switched from Spectrum, the new box doesn't have a clock and it's annoying not to be able to just look up and see the time. Anyway, with the time change, I had to reset the time and it wasn't easy. I did manage it but it took forever and somehow, whatever I did, switched it to a setting where the display times out. It reappears with noise. So a minute ago Jim starts clapping and I'm all, "What the hell are you doing?!" He's said, "I'm trying to see what time it is." I might have to find the damn manual and fix this because it's kind of annoying. Ugh! Nothing is easy.

Jim has his vein mapping and cartoid ultrasound today. I believe it's all routine and there shouldn't be anything to worry about nor should there be any surprises but who knows. Afterward, he'll stop by to see Dad. I think Dad is having a hard time with the place he's in and there may need to be some come to Jesus talks with these people. They aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing. He's supposed to have PT and OT everyday and didn't have either on Friday. They were supposed to give him a haircut and never did and they were supposed to do his laundry and failed to follow through with that. (Trip ended up having to do it when Dad ran out of clothes.) I hate this! He seems motivated to work and get strong and get out of there but the people aren't following the plan. So frustrating.

Okay well, time to get a move on. Oh, WHO DEY! Happy Monday! Later!
