More Wood Than I Know What To Do With!

Get your mind out of the gutter! Not that kind of wood! Jaysus!

Yesterday the tree guys came and boy did they perform! I don't know what time they got here but they didn't leave until about 8:00 and they still need to come back. They would have finished earlier but the neighbors came out of the woodwork and finagled them to take a tree down here and a tree down there.

In the end, they took a huge tree that was split in our front yard and then a tree in the circle that had been slowly dying and dropping branches for the last few years. All of that wood is currently stacked in our side front yard. Along with that, my next door neighbor had them take a tree down in their back/side yard that was leaning toward their house. Katie (the neighbor) sent me a text asking if I wanted that wood but I declined. I've got more than I know what to do with.  However, that detail must have gotten lost because the guys ended up stacking it with our other wood. Add to that, our other neighbor had them take a smaller dying tree on their property in the circle which ended up in our pile. I think I'm set on wood for a while. Yowza.

Not our guys but same machine.
They also trimmed up a tree that had gotten damaged in last July's tornado and then trimmed another one in the backyard (not our tree), beyond the fence that's been giving me anxiety for years. It was huge and had so many huge limbs weighing it down and headed right toward our Florida room. It was nerve wracking to watch. They have this enormous spider-like lift (hard to believe they could maneuver it into our backyard) that reaches 95 feet in the air. He extended it all the way up to get the highest branches. It was crazy. I wish I'd taken a picture. When I was watching him, and he was using his chainsaw, the bucket was shaking back and forth. His partner, on the ground with me, said, "Man, my butt would be puckering right now." I answered with, "I'd be shitting my pants." Anyway, he trimmed the hell out of that tree (much more than I'd expected) and it looks awesome! It's completely lightened up our backyard. So happy.

They will be back today to cut the trunks into 16" pieces so I can split. That will happen (weather permitting) next weekend. They'll deliver a splitter to us and then it's game on. I'm not sure I have room for all the wood that I'm going to have but I'm not complaining. I'll find room for it somewhere. So happy to have this done!

BTW - Dad is doing better. They've figured out where the bleeding was coming from, I believe. Diverticulitis issues. Not sure what they treatment will be though.

Dinner tonight: Burritos

BTW - I have to get up extra early tomorrow to get Jim to the hospital by 6:00 AM so I won't post until I'm down there. But don't you all worry your pretty little noggins...I'll post at some point.

Meeting today with my new VP to talk about my evaluation. I'm off cycle and not quite sure why I have to meet with her but it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. I hate needless meetings but maybe she's just trying to get to know people. I'll try to have a good attitude.

K - I'm out. Happy Wednesday (my Friday). Later!
