Here's a conundrum that came up yesterday: I keep an audiobook downloaded to listen to while driving and/or walking. I'm currently listening to a book by Ken Follet called The Fall of Giants. It's the first in a historical trilogy, this one starting with WWI. It's really good and I'm enjoying it. I downloaded it because every other book in my "want to read" category was unavailable. However, there are three books that I put on hold and have been waiting and waiting and waiting. Two of those books came available yesterday (Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and then Astor) which puts me in a tricky spot. Not because I'm in the middle of one book (I can borrow that anytime) but because I won't be able to listen to both books newly available in the time I'm allotted to borrow. In the end, I put off Astor to be delivered in 7 days and I downloaded Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. I probably won't finish that in a week but maybe I can put off Astor one more time. We'll see.
Oh, and by the way, the book (T&T&T) is really good. I've heard a lot of great things about this book and so far it's meeting all the accolades.
I also started watching Lessons in Chemistry on Apple. So far so good but I'm only 1/2 way through the first episode.
Jim has yet to have a correctly schedule coronary CT. Originally they called and scheduled him for tomorrow at 3:45. Then they called and said there was a scheduling error. At the end of the day they scheduled him for Friday at 9:00 which doesn't work because his appointment with the surgeon is Thursday. What a fucking pain in the ass. And of course I've already taken Thursday off. I can just see them moving the Thursday appointment which will piss me off. And by the way, this is partially Jim's fault because he was supposed to call and schedule on FRIDAY but of course he forgot. He's so annoying. Arg!
Dinner tonight: I'm making Sloppy BBQ Turkey Joes. It's a WW recipe and delicious. I'll make some cole slaw with it and probable fries.
I have an IEP today at 9:00...in person...stupid. This mother is annoying too for a lot of reasons but mainly because she has every excuse for why she fucks things up all the time. For instance, I sent a draft of the IEP on October 2nd for her to peruse in order to expedite the meeting. When I sent a reminder yesterday of our meeting today I said, "We'll start promptly at 9AM. Hopefully you went through the draft so we can review just the high points of the document." Of course she emailed back with "Oh, did you send the IEP. I don't think I got it." So I forwarded my original email sent on 10/2 and she replied with "Oh, sorry. I have a really bad memory." Another time she made an excuse for missing a meeting or something because she'd been dealing with an "incarceration". I didn't even ask. Because I don't care. Get it together lady. Hopefully this meeting will be short and sweet but I have a feeling she's going to want me to read every single fucking word. Pretty sure she doesn't get out much.
K - time to get a move on. Happy Tuesday. Later!
