The weekend was good. I went up to Columbus on Friday morning and the drive was actually okay. It was rainy for much of the ride but it wasn't a downpour and there weren't an overabundance of trucks plus traffic was fairly light.
When I got there, Maggie and I celebrated with a mimosa or two then headed out for lunch with Mom. We got home and just chilled until it was time to pick up Eva from school. We made skillet fried pizza for dinner (so good) and a salad and played a lot of Uno online. Saturday we were meant to all go to lunch at Stone but the neighbors behind Maggie and Charlie had a sump pump emergency so Charlie spent the day helping them. Mom backed out on us for lunch so it was just me, Maggie and Eva. After lunch we were all so full so we just went home and vegged on the couch, played Uno, Eva got a puzzle out and we (really it was just me) spent some time putting that together. We ended up not cooking the dinner we'd planned on Saturday because we were so full from lunch. Sunday we got up and made a big breakfast (fried bread, bacon, eggs and sausage) and then I hit the road around 10:00. As you can see, it was a very relaxing weekend. I might go back up during my spring break for a day or two...we'll see.
Yesterday, was pretty chill. Jim went out on Saturday and go a couple of really lovely filets at our local butcher so I cooked those up last night with some twice-baked potatoes, asparagus and Béarnaise sauce. Charlie gave me an amazing bottle of red wine to go with dinner last night and it was so yummy!
My day today: I've done my yoga and after I type this out I'll do my elliptical. The rain is starting to move out so after I go to the grocery, I'll walk the dogs. I have some laundry to do and a little cleaning and hopefully by noon, all my "jobs" will be done and I can sit and relax...maybe take a bath.
So that's all here. Dinner tonight: I'm thawing out a pork tenderloin which I'll marinate and grill for dinner. We have some twice-baked potatoes leftover from last night so I'll heat those up and probably have peas as our veggie.
K - happy Monday! Later!
