Tail End?

Yesterday, about mid-morning my headache went away and I definitely felt like I was on my way out of this. (Truthfully, however, I haven't felt terrible. Just a little rundown, with a cough and constant headache. Manageable.) Around 4:00 as I was prepping dinner, I decided to take a test. As I waited for the 15 minutes to pass, Jim called to say he needed to work late. As we chatted, I looked at the test and said to Jim, "I'm negative!" YAY! However, the 15 minute hadn't passed and within the next couple minutes, a faint 2nd line showed up which meant I was/am still positive. UGH! I was going to go to work today until I saw that. Oh well...what're you going to do?

Oh, and my head felt fine all night long until around 3:00 when I woke up with that niggling headache again. I still have it but I've taken some ibuprofen and I'm hoping it will go away soon.

I will be zooming this morning with one of my kids so she can take a test. She tried to take it yesterday but the teacher wouldn't let her leave the room, told her it was timed and my kid freaked out and froze. I mean what the heck!? I know I'm not there to keep things running smoothly but how long do you have to be in education to know that these kids in special ed, for the most part have extended time (eff you and your timed test!) and small group testing. This is a kid who works hard and had set up ahead of time with the sub covering for me, to come into my room for the quiz. UGH! I have a feeling too that this teacher is going to be passive aggressive and not respond or turn on the quiz. Jaysus! I mean pick your battles.

So today other than walking the boys and zooming with my student, and maybe doing some grading I'll just be chilling at home. It's going to be a warm one so I'll have the door and windows open. The boys are loving this weather. They just hang out on the deck, moving from spot to spot to wherever the sunshine is.

Oh, bonus for the boys: Jim will be on 2nd shift next week. Hopefully it will just be for the week. It's been a while since he's had a 2nd shift job so I'm not bothered by this and again, the boys will love it.

UPDATE: The teacher emailed me and said she'd just excuse my student from the quiz. She doesn't want her to miss the notes today. Works for me. So now all I have to do is walk the boys. Guess I'll go do that now...get it over with.

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend. Later!
